UFO in the forest night sky

When I was a senior in high school in a suburb just outside of Boston, four friends and I decided to hike out into the forest and walk around. We usually stayed on familiar trails near my friends house but on this particular night we had decided to cross the highway and check out the other side of the forest which was much deeper, darker and scarier.

We hiked around joking and laughing. It was pitch black out there and all we had were our lighters and cigarettes as this was before the popularization of cell phones.

We were on a trail about a 15 minute hike into the woods when out of nowhere there was a craft above us. It had appeared silently and was beaming a spotlight down on the 5 of us. (I get anxious as I write this). HOW COULD THIS LIGHT FIND US IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOODS? HOW COULD IT MAKE NO SOUND? WHAT DID IT WANT WITH US?

Each one of us reacted differently. My response was to crouch down and touch the ground. One friend ran a few feet away, another stood transfixed and I don't remember what the others did.

This craft hovered above us for probably 10 seconds and then it was gone. It didn't fly off, it was just gone. We all started freaking out and made our way out of the woods extremely shaken.

When we shared our story at school and parties people mocked us and teased that we must have been on acid. We were sober. Slowly we stopped telling people and after a while stopped discussing it amongst ourselves. It was almost as if we couldn't prove it so why believe it...?

Years passed and I lost contact with the other four, seeing them occasionally on visits to my hometown. They still remember but have difficulty expressing their belief in what we saw...WE SAW A UFO!!!!

For me this was a major awakening because I had been studying the supernatural since I was kid with my older sister's guidance and had always felt different from the people in my hometown. It was proof to me that there was something out there waiting to be found.

I ended up making a song about it...

I SAW A UFO...
YOU WON'T BELIEVE ME THOUGH
WHEN REALLY YOU DON'T KNOW
THAT ALL IT MEANS IS FLYING OBJECT
THATS UNIDENTIFIED
SO THERES NO NEED TO OBJECT
I ONLY SAW WHAT I SAW SO I REALLY MUST BE CORRECT.

thanks for reading and thank you to Louis Hart whose blog today "It Came From the North" inspired me to share.

any others out there that have a similar story to share?

cool

Thats really tite im jealous, and I believe you

Did you notice...

...any loss of time? Sometimes UFO encounters appear to be brief, but an hour or two of lost time is discovered.

I know someone who had such an experience on a boat off Catalina Island. He was a lab tech and he was with several doctors - all from a convention. They lost track of a couple of hours with something in a wall of fog that captured the craft. He wanted to pursue it, but none of the doctors would talk about it with him after they returned to shore.

time loss

There was no time loss (I think) and I remember us even joking about that possibility as we left the woods. I wish that there was more but it appeared, beamed the light on us and left.

I would say helicopter but it made no sound and somehow found us in the darkness of the forest...

good stuff

thank you

Good One

David, I felt like I was there. This kind of experience can really remain clear in the memory. Thanks.

yes

my partner and i had a similar experience while driving down a road here in columbia, mo. it was just outside of town, he was drunk and i was driving sober. i saw something to the left and asked him what it was, he said he didn't know.

i saw it a little better and said "look i'm not kidding what the fuck is that, it's almost here". he said i dunno, we're drunk. i told him that i had not had a drink.

we drove into a valley and lost sight of it over the hill to our left. when we popped up on the top of the hill, it was above us, maybe 50 feet. It looked quite large, but at the same time kind of like a humvee, we couldn't see it very well because of the spotlight. i slowed down as we were driving and rolled down the window, my partner asked me to please stop the car.

it just hung above us silently, with the spotlight, for about 10 seconds. finally i said, "do we run or do we drive?" H said "we drive, let's get up out of here NOW" so we drove off.

when it passed overhead we saw it behind us and it looked huge.
