The Second American Revolution

I believe you just may be correct. Have you read Howe and Strauss' "The Fourth Turning"? These 2 Harvard historians and futurists saw with astute vision that we are do for another Civil War-like showdown. I am getting the sense that there is no turning back.

Second Revolution

The world that we are presented with by the media certainly isn't something that gives us hope. Although there are many innovative things happening on this planet we seem to be focused on greed and destruction. Can you blame the masses for unrest? At least revolt is better than depression and knowing what we don't want will bring the desire for what we do want. Because of the internet, secrets are no longer easily kept. Hold the vision and soon we will be where we want to be.

When AREN'T We Changing?

Currently, people are saying that humanity is going through changes, through transition and that it is only a matter of time before we come out the other side. My question is this: when aren't we changing? In the sixites, it was all about making change for the better, in the twenties; it was about expanding our world and developing nations. We are continuously striving for what we believe to be a better place to live, and at the same time, it seems to me like we look at change as a negative thing. My point is that society will always be in a state of transition because we are all individuals with our own ideals and philosophies and we do our best to make our visions a reality and we cannot continue to do that if we are afraid. We cannot be focused on building the future if we are afraid of the transition to get there. That said, I DO think that we are getting to a point where we need to make some serious decisions about how we are going to go about fixing the mistakes we have made that seem to have culminated in many of today's events. But times like these have occured before and are likely to occur again because as a society, we just don't seem to be able to learn from our mistakes.

Change

Yes we have gone through many changes because change is a constant. But not everything can be fixed. We will never straighten or figure everything out, nor should we try. Sometimes we have to scrap it all and start over with an entirely new paradigm. Time is moving faster these days.

I am not afraid of tomorrow for I have seen yesterday and I love today.

America is an ongoing Revolution

Historian Alex de Tocqueville said "America is an ongoing revolution" and that seems as true today as when he uttered it. The reactionaries that are trying to incite violence will be surprised by the overwhelming persistence of those of us who choose non violent resistance to the status quo, who make our own destiny and reject the corporate/military/industrial/
pharmaceutical/academic/media complex that wants us to be subservient consumers of their perverted worldview.
Freedom from control freaks is the grace that comes to those who trust in spirit's still small voice. Our loyalty is to the Earth and not to artificial nations. The America I love is not the U.S. corporation nor a flag, but the land, its people and what it represents. We who are the authors, artists and poets must speak up and not let the gun totting mobs rule the streets. Otherwise we will have war and it will not be civil...
