Michael 1 year ago All resistance must recognize that the body politic and global capitalism are dead. We should stop wasting energy trying to reform or appeal to it. This does not mean the end of resistance, but it does mean very different forms of resistance. It means turning our energies toward building sustainable communities to weather the coming crisis, since we will be unable to survive and resist without a cooperative effort.

Hard to argue with his logic
However, I am looking for a narrative that offers a bit more hope than generations of isolated leftists clinging to humanity and culture while totalitarianism and barbarism fight it out. Anyone? Anyone?

as for a more hopeful solution.. i think as more and more people become connected and informed, the power structures will in effect weaken without support. it may not take revolution against the man at all, or a devolution into complete barbarism. because really "the revolution is within." more people are being exposed to narratives and experiences which force themselves to examine their perspectives, challenge their belief systems, their very cores. this is the key... to the kingdom. we cannot expect peace in the world if we first cannot find peace within ourselves. problem is, many cannot find peace within themselves because the system does not encourage it... but instead a schizophrenic social cannibalism. this is where communication and cooperation is necessary to allow knowledge to reach those in need... this site and others are very important in this sense. many think anarchy and resistance is the only way... but with anarchy we only get transfer of power, and with resistance we get nowhere fast. we must use the mediums we have to share a positive message of transformation... that there are choices we can make, now, to encourage this shift and not one way is more significant than the other. we can work together or on our own. the more people who chose a more sustainable, inter- and inner-connected lifestyle over the egocentric greed system... the more rapid the shift will occur. tipping point may soon be approaching. just read the headlines...
