If you want to make a difference
start to murder politicians
do not write to your officials
send a message with a pistol
Find yourself a lobbyist
and make your anger obvious
our only chance of stopping this
is to kill the greedy populous
Money's what the problem is
it's God and we're all hostages
we're slaves and think we're operatives
we must put a fucking stop to this
Find a bank and burn it down
if you spot the king, snatch his crown
take a trip to the Fed
don't stop killing till they're all dead
It's time to start the war on war
plot a plan, recruit the poor
the corrupt will never surrender power
lets show them we're no longer cowards

Holy shit, that was heavy. I
Holy shit, that was heavy.
I liked this man, most the time when I read the kind of angry stuff like this it seems too busy trying to use impressive words that don't fit for it to flow properly. But yeah, the words here worked pretty amazingly, it all just sort'a fit together as I was reading it. I might not agree with it, but that doesn't make it any less awesome.
This was put together well man, I enjoyed it.
Dude are you really KRS-One?
Dude are you really KRS-One? That would be pretty cool. =)
Amazing poetry.
I have to hope there is a better solution. Undoubtedly civil disobedience will play a part of any real solution. Perhaps even the taking up of arms. History does seem to indicate this has always been the case in the past, I'll admit.
And certainly I'm not so "evolved" that I will stand still and take one to the dome. ^_~
But surely there's always a chance to do better each time? Even if only a little bit? Perhaps, rather than worry about tearing them down, we can build ourselves up, knowing that they will eventually devour each other anyway? Is it maybe possible to -- rather than worry about making war upon that which is already killing itself -- work to ensure that there are those who remember how and why this came to pass amongst those who survive into the aftermath of this terrible time, so that humanity as a whole can move forward with the lessons learned?
Given the magnitude of what we face, is not such a strategy even slightly more likely to succeed?
Maybe not. But I'd rather go down swinging for that cause. But I do agree with your overall sentiment: Take a stand and -- if all else fails -- go down swinging. ^_~

Like you, I am very angry at
Like you, I am very angry at the state of things currently. I definitely agree with your overall sentiment. But, some points:
1) The current regime profits from violence and war. A revolutionary/civil war would only feed the war machine that brings the PTBs the majority of their money and power, as well as give them yet another 'Great Enemy' with which to terrorize society with and get more authoritarian power granted to them 'to deal with the danger to our great Nation'.
2) Our lovely and ever-increasingly-authoritarian government/the previously mentioned power elite that owns it have done everything in their power to ensure that they have *the* lock on violent power. Even with as well armed-populace as America has, much of what is available to the people is many generations behind what is available to the Elite and their enforcers.
Look at the Middle-East -- gun ownership there is at least equal to the U.S. on a per capita basis, usually on the scale of an AK-47. And we rolled right into town while they unloaded everything they had. Our losses were infinitely less than theirs.
At the least, to be successful a revolution in the sense you describe would require enormous coordination amongst the people, on a nearly unheard of scale.
3) The current system, as distasteful as it is in many ways, does give us other options to effect consequences for those in power. Through voting, and through spending. With these tools, and with enough coordination (overall less, I think, than would be necessary for a more physical overthrow), we can do much to reform our society through reasonably peaceful means.
I'm not so naive as to believe that some form of physical protest and civil disobedience won't be necessary as part of any realistic solution; or to believe that there won't be crack-downs by the elite utilizing violence if and when our movement truly begins to succeed, and the house of cards built by the elite begins to crumble. Their infinite-growth based model of society is beginning to really hit the walls and boundaries of the Earth's capabilities, and they know it. As I mentioned in my first comment, the taking up of arms may indeed be necessary at some point.
However, we can do much to weaken their power before this occurs by being smart with how we spend our money, and by holding those we vote into power seriously accountable for their actions by getting rid of them when they fail us and voting in someone else. Do this often enough, and consistently enough, and I believe we will start to see change.
Above all, what is at war is are principles and ideas just as much as -- indeed, in my opinion, even more than -- people. The most important thing I see is for us to maintain a moral high-ground, so that those who are watching from afar identify with us and not those who wish us ill. This is the way to fight overwhelming firepower. If we do fight, we should at least not be the ones to strike the first blow. We have other tools at our disposal, legal and effective tools if we organize and use them correctly.
As Sun Tzu teaches: Choose your battles wisely. Never meet your opponent on the field of his choice. Never fight a battle you aren't sure you can win. And never waste your energy and risk a fight if there is another way.
The main goal is to keep us divided and squabbling amongst each other over non-issues. The most important thing to do right now is to come together and organize. Whatever else we need to do will require that as its foundation, anyway.
Anyway, just my opinion on the subject, I certainly have felt just as you describe in your poem occasionally myself. Perfectly understandable, given what is going on. What matters is that you have noticed, and you care enough to do something about it.
But I would encourage you to exhaust the less physical options first. =)

Count me in! I really like
Count me in! I really like this poem. Lets bring them down. Kill or be killed.
Translated from the Bhagavad Gita
Arjuna was on the battle field and looked at both sides about to fight and saw that everyone was related. He started to lay down his sword and he asked the Lord, How could I kill my grandfathers and fathers and brothers? The Lord said
The Self who dwells in the body
is inviolable, forever;
therefore you have no cause to grieve
for ANY being.
Know what your duty is
and do it without hesitation.
For a warrior, there is nothing better
than a battle that duty enjoins.
Blessed are warriors who are given
the chance of battle like this,
which calls them to do what is right
and opens the gates of heaven.
But if you refuse the call
to a righteous war, and shrink from
what duty and honor dictate,
you will bring down ruin on your head.
Decent men, for all time
will talk about your disgrace;
and disgrace, for a man of honor,
is a fate far worse than death.
He says a lot more about it but that is the message I would like to share. You should read the full story yourself.
truth
you speak charismatic words, I like your style. Though I would love nothing more than to give the Kings the guillotine I know deep in my essence that truth is a sword that no shield of lies can deflect, and when the time comes for humanity to look in the mirror and reflect on what we believe in relation to what we know the shift will envelope everyone so... Oh what did you say? they are trying to take my family away? well then... click click, I guess the only way to turn lead to gold is to put holes through those who consider themselves kings of the globe.

still good words to live by. we've all been lead astray through the years and those who've gone too far off the path will either find it again by a series of natural awakenings or they will just go away to come back and learn a few more lessons so there is no need to kill anyone. live and let live and live and let die off naturally. this is evolution and it takes care of itself. just push the truth and the truth is not that brother rises against brother and kills him in the field like cain and able, the truth is that we love one another and get along, but it seems we've got something wierd and nasty and not from here hacking into and trying to supplant our original loving system and many people are not to be blamed outright, if given the truth and the full story i bet many would have a change of heart and stop their nonsense, but yes, some would undoubtedly and happily keep on truckin' into distructo land and so just let them. let them destroy themselves. you go about doing your poetry and staying out of jail for manslaughter thing and let them bury themselves. push the positive and the light (but not with bullets) and let the negative and the dark run from it. push the light from your heart and mind. this world is all in the mind, it's like a giant holodeck, and what we think and do is what we make happen in the world and violent death is not a good thing to put into the mainframe, especially when there is already so much of it. why would you want to be like the people you don't like? you'd just be one of them, you'd fall for the "enemy brother" illusion and that ain't good. may as well join the army and kill for a living then. I'm not really suggesting that, but you know what i mean. you have to be the change, set the example. peace starts within digg?
