oops sorry accidentally posted 3 times ha, ell i think it is possible because of the fact that the lunar eclipse and solstice only fall on the same day once every 400 years

Nope...this article is totally incorrect
The currently supported calendar correlation of 21st December 2012 was decided by an analysis of astronomical correspondences, these are independent of the Gregorian Calendar. This article is entirely wrong.

Are there any scientific assumptions that there is going to be any astronomical events or alignments of celestial bodies on december 21st 2012?
I read somewhere the eclipse the other morning was an alignment of the earth, moon and our sun in the galactic center, but i hadn't heard that anywhere else
