13 different ways of connecting with the spirit
The spirit is called by many names. The Holy Spirit, the Tao or Synchronicity to name a few. Personally, I believe that the universe has a fate designated to it by it's starting conditions and the causal laws that sweep it forward. I believe that that universe is guided along it's path by the acausal aspects of the present moment. I believe that the more we align ourselves with this fate the more harmonious our world will become. So, how do we go about doing so?
1. Be receptive to intuition
Through out our body, in every cell, there are microtubules which have the capacity to amplify the effects of quantum collapses. It has been suggested that it is through these microtubules that the brain is effected by quantum mechanics. Acausality is embedded within quantum mechanics. This means we have a potential link within our brain with the acausal, eternal guiding hand of the universe. If we could tune into this divine part of ourselves we could hear the whisperings of fate that many people call intuition.
2. Stillness
When our minds are beset with the cares and the troubles of our our environment the still small voice within can be drowned out. This is why meditation and prayer can help clear the mind and help us hear our intuition. If you imagine that each of our neurons is being effected slightly by the acausal mechanisms of the microtubules then most of the time the electro-chemical mechanisms over-ride them. When we still our mind we can amplify the acausal quantum collapses right up to the level of consciousness. The same principle applies to when we are asleep. This is why the spirit often communicates through dreams.
3. Be mindful of inconsequential decisions
The other time when these quantum effects might be powerful enough to effect our decisions and thoughts is when we have to make an inconsequential decision. Conversely, if we have to make an important decision regarding our survival our instincts will drive out the effect of our intuition. Chaos theory has shown that in a chaotic system, such as the world we live in, a very small action can have huge influences on the future. So, even if a decision seems unimportant to you it has the potential to change the entire course of history. So next time you choose which route to take home, take a second, relax, still your mind and listen to your intuition.
4. Be receptive to signs
Sometimes the spirit is having a hard time in getting through to you. Perhaps you don't want to hear what it has to say. Through the inconsequential actions of other people and the effect of your own intuition on your own decisions you might find yourself in a situation where the symbols and signs around you have special significance for you. Listen to them. Expand their meaning through metaphor. Interpret your life the same way you would a dream. Beware though, signs never come directly from the spirit but always through the mediation of the tricksters. By this I mean your interpretation of them will be coloured by your own subconsciousness. They seldom mean what they appear to and their true consequences on your behaviour may not even be revealed in your life time. Always remember:
There are no such things as bad omens!
5. Fill yourself with universal love
So, if there is no fool proof way of distinguishing your divine intuition from your subconscious desires and fears or a sign from a mere coincidence then how do we go about making decisions based upon them? The only advice I can give is that the spirit always acts from the perspective of everybody since it is by definition universal. If we as a species have a role to play in the fate of the universe as suggested by the anthropic principle then it would guide us to maximise our human potential. The best way it could do this is by filling us with love. The more we can identify with everybody the better.
6. Be willing to sacrifice
Many people are drawn towards sychronicity and magic as a means to improve their own prosperity. However, if the spirit was guided by efficiency then it would have no need to encourage us to behave in a way that was pleasurable and in our own interest as we're drawn in that direction on our own. It is far more likely to compel us to make the decisions that involve a personal sacrifice that will have positive results in the near or far future for humanity as a whole. Jesus' act of self-sacrifice is a great example of this.
7. Be perceptive, alert and self-aware
This is again about practising mindfulness. Through being perceptive and alert we can be more considerate towards the needs of others. The more that we are aware of any disturbances in our own soul the better we will be able to distinguish between the dross and the sublime. Through self-awareness we can channel our lower drives into the service of the higher. The more individuated we are the more energy we have to channel towards other people. This is why the signs we see often relate to our Jungian shadows. They encourage us to face up to the parts of ourselves that we have repressed. When we release blocked emotions we regain the energy that was lost with them. This process also frees us from the compulsions that blocked emotions bring with them.
8. Practice self discipline
It is through self discipline that we define ourselves. With out self discipline we are left enchained by our own passions. These distract ourselves from the spirit and only leaves us needing more. Through practising self-discipline we can create a cockpit for the spirit.
9. Be proactive
Once we have become receptive to the spirit is is important that we act upon it. We must shine the light of our candles upon the world. A proactive attitude draws the spirit towards it far more than a lazy one as it needs less spirit focused upon it to achieve greater results. The more potential for action and influence you have the more the spirit will descend upon. Gentle forcefulness is the key.
10.Have faith
It is important to believe that which will spur you on to be the best that you can be. Every belief about the unknown that you have creates an emotional reaction and changes the way you perceive things. If you believe in an all-loving God then you will feel less anxiety and have greater self-esteem. The belief that I find encourages connection with the spirit is the following. I believe that the world is conspiring to help me become a blessing upon the world. This helps me recognise any oppertunity that comes my way to help other people and the planet. It makes the world feel exciting, dynamic and interactive.
11. Eat ancient virtue
The ancient Chinese referred to the study of holy books as “Eating ancient virtue”. The books that have come down to us over the years that are revered as holy are pathways to accelerating the growth of this spirit within you. They are written by men and women who spent years of practice and training connecting with the spirit. The recognition and respect that they have garnered from other similar people through out the ages shows that the spirit has sought to amplify their influence. They are worthy of study and respect. Those of us that are connected to the internet have access to all the holy books of all the cultures and religions of the world for free. Each one is a ladder to illumination and freedom. With so many ladders around it would be a shame to stay on the ground.
12. Do not rely upon it
This last point seems paradoxical. I've spent the whole article describing the ways we can amplify the spirit and embody it in our actions. The aim of the spirit is to mould us in such way so that then when it leaves us we will carry on acting in a loving, productive, negentropic way. By becoming somebody who behaves in accord with the fate of the universe you allow the spirit to focus more upon others who need it. Our aim should be to become so receptive to the spirit and so in tune with it's desires that we require as little of the spirit as possible to be the greatest blessing we can be.
13. Cultivate spontaneity
In order to maximise your potential for expressing the spirit in your life it is important to avoid habit and rigid long term planning. Living spontaneously increases the number of small decisions that you have to make. Living a life of habit is like being a singer lip syncing. It's like the difference when you're going travelling and deciding on which books you're going to read beforehand and buying the books you read in the little independent book stores as you travel. The former does not allow for the changing environment to effect your choice of book while the latter encourages connection with the places you visit. So it is with the spirit of the present moment.

Thanks for sharing
"I believe that the world is conspiring to help me become a blessing upon the world."
What a beautiful mantra! Thanks for making my day.
Namaste.
I love this!
Thank you!
I would like to add that scientists have been able to moniter these electron wave function collapses which produce a detectable frequency. According to their data, the average person operates about 30-35 hertz where the wave function collapses 35 "frames" per second to form the perception of reality which is about the same as a what a video camera operates. However, when buddhist monks were monitered during meditation, they were functioning at around 100 hertz with a more pure perception of reality. They also operated at higher than average levels when not in meditation.
Science can finally paint a new story of reality that incorperates the spirit!
Love to All,

On second thought -
and further reflection , pardon my avatar of Shiva while she eviscerates and destroys your seemingly enlightened post . I'll take back my thanks & state this is not only a plagiarism ( an act of debased , distorted and diseased or unbalanced ego )of recently (50's and 60's new age ) revealed ancient occult wisdoms (wiccan, hermetic, thelemic, aeonic, pythagorean, egyptian, mithran, etc. ), it is also a plagiarism of very recent (80's and 90's ) books (The Celestine books , the Queen of the Sun , The Secret books ,Happy for No Reason , et cetera ) carefully rephrased to seem like new insights while covered thinly with a terrible virus - christianity . So I'd take back my grok -since I cannot, my avatar of Shiva the destroyer will now deconstruct the post.
"The spirit is called by many names "
You may call them anything you like , but what are you talking about ? Catholic terms mixed with Chinese mixed with Reichian and Non - causual ? How is anyone to understand this ? First there are currently four components of the oversoul which come together to incarnate in material form, usually stated as soul, mind, intelligence & spirit.
These are different, have differing attributes and intertwine with differing aspects of material form. The soul links with the body, the mind links with the brain, the intelligence links with the first three chakras , the spirit links the the upper two chakras with the fifth part of us that currently does not manifest on the material planes.
We do not always exist or incarnate as the same four, identity can be carried by each and all or several.
At some point in our evolution we will begin incarnating with a fifth soul and at that point the relations of of each aspect with the material form will shift. We will become aware of all that we are on a constant basis.
Confusing this is that currently, some aspects can and do fragment & fuse with other fragments leading to multiple aspects with multiple identities of past incarnations.
*"Personally, I believe that the universe has a fate designated to it by it's starting conditions and the causal laws that sweep it forward. "*
The universe contains innumerable possibilities , not "a fate". Your beliefs betray a mechanistic and deterministic set of perceptual blinders , leaving you unable to see beyond the illusion of causality.
*"I believe that the more we align ourselves with this fate the more harmonious our world will become. "*
There is no one true "fate" . Aligning ourselves with it will only be more harmonious with your flawed vision , it's conformity to polarizing division , not true harmony.
*"Acausality (sic) is embedded within quantum mechanics."*
If you mean Non - Causality relates to quantum mechanics , that is essentially correct . If however you are linking cause and effect with the synchronous and quantum states , then NO, that is incorrect .
*"microtubules which have the capacity to amplify the effects of quantum collapses. "*
Really ? In our cells ? microtubules ? Point to them , show me a picture of what you're not describing or are they too small or too invisible or just too Non - Existent ?
Quanta collapse into differing states and the only things material actually in humans that can affect when and how and what state the collapse becomes is our brain and it's connected nervous system and sensory organs . Those are all very specialized cells and Not all through our bodies .
Yet another error in your speculation is that only the non - material aspects of our incarnate forms can actually amplify energies to any degree.
*"This means we have a potential link within our brain with the acausal(sic), eternal guiding hand of the universe. If we could tune into this divine part of ourselves we could hear the whisperings of fate that many people call intuition."*
The brain through the mind is already a quantum device , it is only "potential" in those who have not learned how yet. There is no " eternal guiding hand of the universe. " the universe is all one , there is nothing outside of it's oneness , nor anything separate within it to guide itself. People tune into this NOT "divine part" all the time , but it's not " the whisperings of fate " rather it's the voices of others , some decidedly un-divine and only fools call that "intuition" True intuition comes recognizably from within , not as mere voices in our brains .
*"When we still our mind we can amplify the acausal(sic)quantum collapses right up to the level of consciousness. The same principle applies to when we are asleep. This is why the spirit often communicates through dreams."*
If you meditate , you can hear your thoughts , if you silence your thoughts , you can hear those of others , no pseudo -spirtuality of amplified microtubules needed . The question of the wisdom of listening to voices in your head and not questioning , still remains.
There is no "same principle applies" because the referent is already proven false and cannot be implied in yet another false correspondence . We dream because the brain releases DMT when our brainwave patterns slow to certain frequencies and this dissolves waking perceptual filters , allowing non - verbal and direct apprehension of that which is outside of self .
*" ...still your mind and listen to your intuition."*
Rather , still your brain , free your mind and then listen to your own heart instead.
*"...symbols and signs around you have special significance for you. Listen to them. Expand their meaning through metaphor. Interpret your life the same way you would a dream. Beware though, signs never come directly from the spirit but always through the mediation of the tricksters. "*
Remarkably bad advice ! "Life" as a dream , special "symbols and signs" for us to interpet as portents ?!? Tis' more likely you want others enslaved to mumbo - jumbo . What's the meaning of these bloody entrails ? Simply - someone lost their guts ! Beware ! the meditation of "tricksters"(sic) Yeah especially beware of meddlers mangling the mediation of meditation like yourself "McGarr !"
*"So, if there is no fool proof way of distinguishing your divine intuition from your subconscious desires and fears or a sign from a mere coincidence then how do we go about making decisions based upon them? "*
Who said there is no way of distinguishing ? Oh you did, did you prove it ? Or merely state it as a declaration ? For us to follow your reasoning ? Or just to fool - low you ?
There are many ways of distinguishing , first is to know your self , sadly this takes time and true effort, not to be gained from a 6 , 7 , 12 or 13step plan . A Second way is to know the patterns , colors and movements of your body's chakras , again not instantaneous . A Third way is to know what aspects of your soul relate to which chakras and what their attributes feel like , again a lot of time and true use of will . A fourth way is to know your anima and animus . A fifth way is to know the fifth aspect of your soul , that which does not incarnate on the material plane at all , yet is always connected . Next point ! If it's divine it's not intuition and if it's intuition it's not divine , secondly there are no coincidences , all is non - casual and synchronous , all co - incidence is supposition following from reflective sensory information too filtered and limited to afford true apprehension . Until you learn enough to distinguish there is no point in making decisions based on thoughts that may not be your own.
*"...spirit always acts from the perspective of everybody since it is by definition universal."*
Nice but not accurate, spirit acts less from the perspective of a demanding ego . Tis' connected to the universal while we are incarnate , yet my spirit is an aspect of my soul , it is not your spirit or soul , hence not "everybody" hence your definition is flawed.
*"...fate of the universe as suggested by the anthropic principle then it would guide us to maximise(sic) our human potential."*
Principles do not suggest, YOU are suggesting the universe has a fate (false) , that we will be guided (false) to potentiate our maximum (notice reversing the order of the phrase reveals it's incoherence ?)(also false). This is derivative reasoning from false correspondences .
*"...if the spirit was guided by efficiency..."*
What !?! Your spirit participates in time and motion studies ? Again this a supposition stated as affirmative fact to lend a negative connotation to the preceeding generalized statement .
*"personal sacrifice that will have positive results in the near or far future for humanity as a whole. Jesus' act of self-sacrifice is a great example of this."*
Translation = you may have to die, but it's for a really great nebulous cause , that no one may ever know of , for example , this guy who was never born and therefore couldn't make this great sacrifice that you're supposed to emulate that he didn't do cause it's an Astrotheological parable of a made up myth tacked onto another myth .
*"It is through self discipline that we define ourselves. With out self discipline we are left enchained by our own passions. These distract ourselves from the spirit and only leaves us needing more. Through practising(sic) self-discipline we can create a cockpit for the spirit."*
Translation = it is thru enslavement of the self that I will define you . Passion cannot be allowed to endanger the pogrom . This enlightenment thru senses could distract you into not becoming a slave to our ideology and dogma . You must whip yourself to tiny bits to create control space for this new "spirit " to reside in you.
*"... the more the spirit will descend upon. Gentle forcefulness is the key." *
It's the iron fist in the velvet glove ! Paired opposites masking a great untruth .
*"Every belief about the unknown that you have creates an emotional reaction and changes the way you perceive things. If you believe in an all-loving God then you will feel less anxiety and have greater self-esteem. "*
Translation = Every piece of this really nice candy you swallow whole will alter how you feel and how you are able to see things. You will see we are nice people giving you nice candy that you mustn't taste , just swallow it whole , you'll feel better cause now you're nice people too now that we share delusions .
*"The ancient Chinese referred to the study of holy books as “Eating ancient virtue”... be a shame to stay on the ground."*
Gah ! Where to start ? You are what you eat , eating holy books written for unknown purposes by persons claiming to know what's good for you , applicable only to the stagnant cultures that produced them way back when . Tis' a good recipe for constipation of the soul . These unspecified books may have some bit's of wisdom in them but it's a thick indigestible gruel compared to what you can find simply looking within yourself. Who is this "spirit" that has to amplify the regard holy books may or may not deserve ? Shall we not draw our own opinions ?
Those wired to the world wide web know not that it is a disinformation toll road , filled with many pieces of plastic , nay , poisoned shallow illumination such as this "13 different ways of connecting... " posted about to snare the unwary . Without a level place to rest such ladders and real structures to rest their higher ends upon , there are of less use than yarrow stalks in the wind, useful only in what some say of the meaning of the pattern of their falling . Better to stay centered on the ground than risk unsupported heights at the behest of a cut and paste guru .

good stuff, tad aggressive?
why so angry? your input was good, but a tad aggressive. May I suggest informing people in a more pleasant non aggressive way in the future?

Philosophical arguments
The words of any human language can be twisted into a rational philosophical arguement in favor or against any doctrine. It is up to the individual to listen within to decipher the ultimate truth. Philosophical arguments over the the details of spiritual doctrines have been going on for thousands of years with a river of blood shed left behind. We stand at a time to come together and act as one for the benefit of our planet and we are past the time of unconscious arguments.
Here is some information of the existance of microtubules which have been theorizied by some molecular biologists as being the entry of consciousness in the brain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microtubule

What at was posted, I recalled from memory so I dug out the magizine for you. It was from Enlighten Next issue 46 in an interview with Stuart Hammeroff. It is a great magizine and that particular article was one of the most fascinating I've read.
Here is his website http://www.quantumconsciousness.org/
and a related article about gamma frequency

I enjoyed your post, thank you for sharing it!

Sorry ! my mistep !
Okay , I must apologize for how my avatar of Shiva the Destroyer strayed beyond criticisms into ad hominen attacks upon you, McGarr .
She is but an aspect of myself and I must take responsibility for her words.
So I do say I'm sorry for when she got a bit too savage and made it personal .
I must be more accepting of where people are along their path and more cognizant that everyone is doing the best they can at each moment .
I do become disturbed when I taste seemingly useful illuminations , only to find I've swallowed specious reasoning supporting old failed paradigms .
I'm sure you feel it was an enlightening post , that you wrote it with the best of intentions .
I'm also sorry I still have to disagree with much of what you said .
I also regret having to point out that your 13 steps are so directly derivative , as you may have been unaware of the secondary or primary sources or their contamination by viral memes .
I do get frustrated when anyone even slightly enlightened cannot see the need to discard all perceptual filters in order to recognize what they are and realize they are all hazards to fully awakening . What we think we know is only what some people used to belive .
There are some redeeming concepts and phrases in your post , aside from the borrowed bits of wisdom , so I am truly sorry that it fails the noise test , as well as the fuzzy test , in that someone following these 13 steps will not actually become more enlightened , just more confused and more lost in jargon that supports flawed and failed old paradigms .
I also must apologize for being so polarizing and harsh , since now all who are inclined to disagree with any of my points , will feel free to disregard all of them , hence no one will gain any growth from any of it . My mis - step indeed .
I'll read the info about "microtubles" - sounds like dna/rna to me.
P.S. there is not much out there about binaural beats that is both free and accurate
there are iso-chronic tones which used pulsed frequencies of frequencies to achieve brainwave entrainment. download for free here >

Intuition
I really appreciate this post. It helps take down the seriousness of day to day living and get back to what counts. Lately their has been a lot of tug & pull on our focus and I feel that once we allow the spirit to tune our focus in then we can make the right decisions that resonate with the heart. Even now I have to take responsibility for being on the computer for hours when I know I should just relax and read, or taking a walk. Self discipline is something that needs a healthy dose of nurturing and when we can admit our faults we're half way their to focusing our trust and honesty to guide us. Thanks! God Bless!
