So I'm into the second week here at the Frank Family Fish Farm and so much has changed! It's amazing to see like-minded able-bodied people transform a derelict land into a permaculture paradise.
Speaking of paradise, imagine this--a team of sustainable innovators visits an old landfill and taps into the methane gas from its underground soup, then uses it to power the firey kiln and glass-blowing studio, offering potters and glass-blowers alike an unbounded opportunity to virtually free heat! An amazing place just twenty minutes down the road from here, called the Energy Exchange. Very cool place. We visited this morning and bought a firey azalea--they also grow plants using aquaponics. Though they are phasing out this operation since it's not really sustainable for them.
We also got a load of manure delivered today. Mmm I dig the stuff. It's really gonna kick start our garden plot. Tomorrow we'll be breaking the ground and readying it for seed. Also finishing spreading gravel on the driveway. Maybe I'll make a bamboo flute or some other instrument for the sound sculpture garden tomorrow :D
