Evolver NYC Spore: The Spirit of Water

Join fellow NYC Evolvers in celebrating the most vital ingredient to all life on Earth: water. Although it covers almost three-quarters of the planet and fills nearly 70% of our own bodies, this precious and seemingly boundless substance is becoming increasingly scarce? Renee Vogelsang (East Coast Organizer for Food & Water Watch) will introduce us to a few of the most urgent water issues currently facing our communities, such as the consequences of natural gas drilling, privatization of water resources, and the "peak water" crisis. Lenny Librizzi (Assistant Director of Open Space Greening at GrowNYC) will talk about rainwater harvesting in the home and in community gardens. Then, you're invited to take part as we synchronize with Evolvers all across our network (10:30 EST) in a five minute healing blessing for the fragile waters of the Gulf. The NYC prayer will be led by the "neo-renaissance, eco-epicurean" former NOLA resident Evelyn Rodriguez. You can also head up to our scenic rooftop for an elemental breath purification session led by Evolver co-founder Jonathan Talat Phillips.
