A Short Exposition on the Great Mother Goddess (Part Three)

As elucidated in the “Cult of Hathor-Isis and the Mother Archetype” articles, the Great Mother archetype belonging to the sphere of the Divine Feminine is the single most important archetype, or energy-laden image, held in the collective unconscious of humanity. It transcends any barriers that might pertain to culture, gender, race or creed.

A Short Exposition on the Great Mother Goddess (Part Two)

In order to fully grasp the discourse presented in the two articles of the “It’s all Greek to me” educational blog tour entitled, “The Cult of Hathor-Isis and the Mother Archetype” (Part One and Two), it is necessary to provide a brief overview of the Jungian principles used to support my hypothesis on the Divine Feminine and the Great Mother Goddess.

Ken Wilber, Integral and Jung (archetypes seen in meditation/psychedelic/shamanic)

Recently in the Ken Wilber meetup group we talked about Jung and Ken Wilber

There are two paths to enlightenment, either transcend it all by saying, I am "not this, not this." - the "male" way. The "female" way is to embody all.

Ken Wilber calls this Freedom vs. Fullness.

At integral (see Don Beck and Ken Wilber), perhaps we do both.

Blog Tour "It's all Greek to me" with Paul Kiritsis

Have you ever wondered why the Greek gods surround George Washington on the oculus of the dome which adorns the rotunda of the United States Capitol Building? Why are these ancient deities important? Who are they? Why should we open the gates and let them back into contemporary society?

The Double Helix Archetype

I'm working on a new article for my website, and came across this one already posted. Check it out and let me know if you want to add to the discussion. It's about the double-helix and how it's been showing up as a modern archetype, at least in my view....

The Human Mystique

I have a feeling that when I'm older and reflecting on my experience as a young man, there will be a vital point in the story when I exclaim, "And then I found The Feminine Mystique!" It's bewildering to consider that the work -- which launched the modern feminist movement almost 20 years before I was born -- could relate in any significant way to my own life.

Sayid: what role does the Iraqi play?

Anonymous

Some characters like Jack Shephard and John Locke are fairly easy to establish as to what their archetypes are and what paths their characters are on. Both represent, as have been displayed since season one contrasting elements of freewill and fate, respectively. Even some more ambigious characters like Kate Austen and and James "Sawyer" Ford have been forged recently. But what of Sayid Jarrah?

The Spiritual Power of Sex

In Tarot, the Major Arcana is a successive system of archetypal energies that are universally part of the human experience- beginning with the Fool and ending with the World/ Universe. Tarot is the story of us, a memetic tool telling the tale of our development based on the many historically acclaimed cultures, societies, and systems of wisdom found world-wide, and, in some cases, universally.
