I've always thought it'd be really nice to have a chat feature connected to this site, so I created a simple, unofficial evolver chat room for anyone that wants to use it. It could be really beneficial and fun to have a platform for immediate group communication. Synchlink is a nice idea, but it's kinda limited.
Since I heard about Evolver SyncLink, I've been hoping to start a regular chat group with fellow Evolvers. I like the idea behind SyncLink (auto-matching with someone), but I'd rather not do video chat (unless someone was giving a presentation via web conference), and I'd prefer to have a group involved instead of just two people.
On June 15 Evolver admin Jennifer Palmer introduced the new service SynchLink. The Evolver community had mostly positive responses to the announcement.
Chat Roulette is one of the flavors of the moment on the internet. It's simple: The site pairs you with a random videochat partner. You can click "next" any time, or stay with your current pairing. Chat Roulette has been described as, "The Internet. UNFILTERED." The lure is seeing something strange--or doing something so strange that you blow your chat partner's mind.
Where can you talk to a guy pounding beers in Sacramento in his lazyboy, a bored history major at UNC with fine appreciation for pop art, a lot of erect penises, and a med school student from Caracas raving about Hugo Chavez in one evening? You guessed it: Chat Roulette. The first time I heard about it a person told me never to go on it.
