No doubt it is news to no one that planet Earth is in a period of escalating interlocking crises. We need a response that addresses all the hidden as well as the obvious dimensions of these crises—before they spin out of control into irretrievable chaos.

Reflecting back on my entry into the Evolver Social Movement stirs up a brew of diverse personal influences and memories of surprising connections and turning points. Here’s how I joined the Reality Sandwich family and became an Evolver regional coordinator in Los Angeles, and what I’ve learned about transformation within the emergent space of the Evolver Social Movement.

It’s been a long time since I read a book that has held so much personal significance for me as Andy Roberts’ Albion Dreaming, which with great enthusiasm and obvious love for the subject matter, relates the specifics of how LSD tripped out British culture—a story as least as interesting as its American counterpart, featured in works such as Storming Heaven and Acid Dreams.

Lately I have been astounded by the whole getting our act together movement that has started. Sadly just when things start to peak everyone scatters in all directions. Culturally and socially speaking what was once a unified collective is now one of many splinter groups. An Idea I have been toying with and have overheard people talking about is the creation of "their own" culture.

There's been so much talk lately about the current time of change, the shifting paradigms, and the various "movements" that are working toward a better, more sustainable, more enlightened world. It's really exciting and uplifting to see this awareness spreading like wildfire across the globe! I don't run into anyone who says the system or the way things are right now is great.

It's interesting how fractured the modern counter-culture truly is. I mean, I suppose the Vietnam War and the draft were what truly united the various counter-cultural sub-sets of the baby boom generation, not to mention major civil rights violations. But where is our unifying force?

Dear Evolvers, I have a simple request: Please make cults.

I love the Counter Culture. I think it is one of my favorite things on the planet. I love websites like Disinformation, Evolver, Reality Sandwich, Right where you are sitting now, and a number of other ones.
