How to Juice Fast

Why are you fasting? If your doing it for detox reasons, unless you are a raw foodist, i suggest you slowly work your way away from cooked and processed foods into raw foods and then consider juice fasting.

Practical and Spiritual Habits to Dissolve Eating Disorders and Addictions

1. Try to cook/prepare/order meals that contain the 6 essential flavors: sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter and astringent. The physiological (rather than psychology) urge to over-eat comes from a lack of satiation. The brain sends signals of satiation when the tongue comes into contact with all of those tastes (which represent the array of a balanced nutritional profile).

Is Ritual Sacrifice embedded into the fabric of society?

As a kid I remember an old film were this guy rescues this girl from another guy. Then throughout the film the couple spend it running from that guy(a warlock) and a witches coven. In the end the warlock recaptures the girl so our hero has to rescue her again, this time from a ritual sacrifice. Only this time he gets there and he's betrayed by his best friend and the girl.

Diet = Behaviour = Culture?

Hey all, just watched this video and wanted to share the link.
Some might find it a bit long-winded or dry but I recommend it despite this.

Dr. Russell Blaylock talks about the effects of diet on psychology. While his focus is primarily on the individual, its easy to see how our society at large would benefit hugely from improving our diets.

Juice Detox Day 5 & 6

-Day 5 & 6-

Yesterday and today were HAAAARD!! Man, I did not expect this!

To be really honest, I'm really getting sick of drinking juices. lol. Up until the 4th day things were pretty easy. The juices still tasted okay and I was able to be strong. But once day 5th came around my mind kept on thinking "do not want to drink this..." But I did it anyway.

Vegetable Juice Recipes

I decided to dedicated this post to vegetable juice recipes. Most of the recipes are my own, some are from books. You can also find lots of recipes online!

I use very basic vegetables so it should be easy for anyone to make these recipes. As for the Tamari soy sauce, you can find it in Asian supermarkets like T&T or in a Japanese food section in a store.

Juice Detox Day 4 & Salt Water Flush

-Day 4-

Today is much easier, less hunger, ease with the juicing. The entire process is becoming a routine so things are getting a bit robotic. Which is fine with me.

Yesterday night my in-laws came home - they were gone for three days - and tonight I had to endure the smell of spaghetti meat sauce :) It really smelled good but it did not tempt me one bit.

Juice Detox Day 2 & A bit on the New Moon Phase

Ok, so today is actually the third day but I was too lazy to blog yesterday so I'm gonna write two posts today.

Day 2 was definitely waaay harder than day 1. Ha! I knew it!!
The challenging thing was the hunger that I was experiencing now. Day 1 I didn't have any hunger - only short cravings. But on day 2 there was some actual hunger where my stomach was growling.

Juice Detox Day 1 & Some Juice Recipes

In my previous post I wrote about prepping for this detox but I did not go into depth about what "prepping" meant. Ideally, this is what you do one week prior to your detox: cut out white sugar, white salt, white flour, red meat, do enemas, etc. Personally, I have only tried to cut out as much meat as possible and try to eat healthy.

healing through diet, my personal adventure

Food is a touchy subject. I actually don't like talking about it much, because people frequently respond rather negatively. That said, I hope this post doesn't offend anyone, and please understand that these are my personal experiences and opinions.

The Raw Food Kids

Sometimes the best way to get people to listen is through a little comic relief. Raw Family's own Sergei Boutenko, co-author of Fresh: The Ultimate Live-Food Cookbook, sings the perks of eating raw in this hilarious new music video. Check it out!
