It's commonly said that it's very hard to be an artist.
It's not so much that this path is 'hard' but that it requires a complete transformation of the kind of socialized beliefs that most of us grow up with. One has to give up common ideas of how the world works, and open oneself up to new ideas. Learn new systems and new ways of being.
The creative process – what a tease! When creativity is present and flowing it feels so good, life feels right, we feel empowered. It is satisfying to be productive, to share our passion with the world, to express ourselves through our work. And when creativity is elusive – we wonder where it has gone, what we have done to deserve the dry desert that lay before us.
Saul Bass , mainly known for his graphic design work on logos and on movie posters and title sequences, also made a few brilliant short films, and even the feature-length sci-fi film Phase IV (which is highly recommended, and can be found on youtube).
