An Act of Creation

Who dares to claim the path to Gnosis
was the most prized of our Lord’s secret teaching
as alternate realms shall quickly infer

I got excited when I heard about this book, both b/c I think that for people who are interested in creating social change, community is where to do it, and also I knew of the author's most recent work (founding director of MiningWatch Canada, an organization our local Indigenous solidarity group has worked with, and one that has taken on the huge challenge of challenging Canadian mining companies'

Popular opinion declares Stairway to Heaven the greatest rock song of all time, though the meaning of the song's lyrics are far less agreed-upon. The following interpretation seeks common ground beneath this contradiction, identifying humankind's evolution of consciousness as this ballad's subject of shared appeal. The lyrics resonate with our deep-rooted desires to transcend the material world and return to the spiritual experience of oneness.

This chilling and powerful short story by Bruce Sterling was first published in 1989. I read it around '94 and re-read it on Sept. 12, 2001. In the story, Sterling pre-cogs the Crusader vs. Jihad world that we inhabit today, and presiently explains the Jihadist position from the main Muslim character's point of view. It's eerie.

This past weekend was the first spore meeting for the regional Athens Ga. Evolver. It was an intimate evening of dinner and conversation as new and old friends discussed 2012: a time for change. I am glad to have hosted the event and look forward to next month's spore which may have a new home in Athens. I would like to encourage more people to join the Athens Ga.

So my books been out since November and my sales doubled over the last month, so I decided that I would make the e-book of it free for the day. Well my publisher screwed it up, so I'm going to do it myself. What's more, I think I'll keep it up a little longer, maybe a week, give or take. I didn't write it with profits in mind anyways.
