Rethinking Our Relationship with Marijuana

In Marijuana and False Enlightenment the author offers an interesting take on marijuana but one that I feel may be a bit of an over reaction. It seems he found that weed gave him the power to tune into some greater level of awareness, but never anything connected to the heart. Could this have been a lesson that marijuana was teaching?

Marijuana and False Enlightenment

I smoked pot for many years. I liked pot because it helped me forget what a mess my life was, but I also liked it because of the effect it had on me. Whereas most people would zone out, drift away into la la-land and/or forgetfulness when they smoked pot, people would say things to me like "you are the only person I know who gets sharper when you get high". My mind became acutely aware.

Modern Day Prohibition. New Original Gangsters

So I woke up this morning and started thinking about Cannabis. What does it mean to me? I feel inspired to try to write a little about the history of cannabis in America, and where I feel it is likely going. I got on reality Sandwich and Evolver and instantly noticed a couple of interesting articles.

Shadow Economy: Legalizing Marijuana instead of the HST Tax in BC

Shadow economies or Black Economies deal with transactions that are untraceable and therefore untaxable. They are not included in the countries taxation system formally and therefore they are not reported as part of the countries GDP - gross domestic product. They are not formally recognized as part of the matrix system.

SB1381: The compassionate Use of medical cannabis pilot program act

Hi,
I just wanted to drop a line to let Evolver Chicago know that I am committed to working toward the legislation in the house that would legalize medical cannabis for the sickest of sick patients in Illinois.

Taking Care of Our Precious Plant Friends + Questioning Plant Cloning

Recently I have started tuning in more as to how we raise plants affects them and thus us in response. I have realized in eating plants that I can tell how happy they are, how much their breeding reflects their original prototype, the nutrient density of the soil, and sometimes also the happiness and wellbeing of their caretakers.

Medical MJ: to Smoke or Vaporize?

I wanted to see if anyone had opinions about the differences between medical marijuana being smoked versus vaporized. My own experience has led me to the hypothesis that vaporization gives more of a clear entheogenic experience, whereas smoking tends to be more hazy and sedating (obviously there are differences in the strain to take into account, but I'm trying to look beyond this).

High thoughts = true thoughts

This is what I meant by "The high is me now" which I wrote down on the night of, 4/20/07 (possibly the most amazing night of my life in terms of experiencing introspective phenomena.)

So, the high is me now. If you were once your identity, an ego, and now you are your high, then what is it to be high?

High Meditation

I smoked tonight and decided to meditate. It was my first time smoking in a few weeks; three hits off the blunt and I was ripped.

I sat down in meditation and began to follow my breath. I picked up right away on my ego trying to disguise itself as some sort of meditation phenomena. The inner dialog began. I became aware that I had said "Your ego." I turned my attention to this notion.

Selection from, "In Freefall"

One hour of the bliss negates the long dark days of weeks past. Inspiration. Disorder. Chaos. Freedom. What is this? Follow your bliss and destroy the beauty. Senses fail. Colors blind the eyes. The scariest people live next door and no one in the car is sober. Just run away. Just hold on. One moment more. Anticipate. What more does this confusion offer to our tireless souls?

Let's talk about sex

13 Muluc recently blogged about sex and drug taboos and I realized yet again what a special place I live in here in Humboldt County, CA. Growing marijuana is the biggest engine of our local economy and nobody would deny it.

Initiation in to the Divine

This was not my choice. I did not plan this. I am floating through the cosmos, subject to my destiny. As time passes it gets easier and easier to let go and walk my path. I have no job, I have no money, and neither of these things bother me as they would have in the past.

Tea Party? Nah man. Where's the weed at?

Correlating concepts is one literary tool which unifies stories and ignites sparks in readers. Recognition of correlations in written words and in real life instigates thoughts on metaphors in stories and truths in reality.
