Let my People Go.

When the waters came we were sitting,
On your dry front porch,
Watching the remaining embers of the greedy fire-swept city,
Die away;
The columns of smoke turned white as the poisonous, salty, and chilling tide blanketed the coals of what use to be a bright and busy boardwalk,
Full of blissful people;
Our view from your industrial home,

The Tales we Tell

Let's start off with the definition, Autonomy: The right of each individual to determine their own goals in life, and to decide how to achieve those goals. Lately I've been thinking about the road I'm taking and how many side streets I've taken, endless highways, and a few dead ends that I've hit, having to turn back around going back the way that I came and picking a different direction.

the new creed?

I know, it's "old news" but here's something; a bit of a different take on the whole climate(change/gate) issue.

Seriously, Where’s Muhammad?

The last fully baked ZOOMDOUT blog focused on a rather rational deconstruction of religion. I proposed that the five major religious prophets probably used a psychedelic vehicle to reach The Essence we call God, YHWA, Allah...

How can you be prolife and eat dead meat?

The prolife argument is a hyprocritical argument. How is it that you can call yourself prolife yet you support the mass slaughter of animals. The way animals that people eat are treated in mass production is equivelant to the holocaust if you ask me, the only difference is that people have the ability to speak up.

Where’s Muhammad?

01.17.2010

Yeah. That’s Buddha sitting in the middle of a field-full of mushrooms, rolling a J. It’s 4:20, and Moses, Jesus, Buddha and Krishna are all wondering why their prophet-buddy, Muhammad, is late for their afternoon session.

What do we do in the aftermath of such a disaster, except to express profound sadness, shock, and sympathy, and to send donations to aid and relief organizations working in the affected areas? How do we even portray it in a way that respects the victims?

ALL I WANTED AS A CHILD WAS TO BE LIKE JESUS!

I grew up in a fairly strict Catholic household, where I was forced to go to church every Sunday and I can remember ever since a young child all I really wanted to do when I grew up was be like Jesus. I wanted to go around and spread peace and love to all, especially those that needed it the most. Live as a minimalist and share that which I had with others.

Honoring our Heritage: A Tribal Connection

Tribal and third world influences are firmly entrenched in our culture, but it is unclear how many Americans are aware of the impact indigenous societies have had on the arts. If we don't acknowledge these influences we may be in danger of losing our cultural heritage.

The true reality

Let me first state how utterly insane this may seem to some of you, and in fact myself. I don't claim to be correct nor do I claim any gift with this knowledge...it is a burden to have experienced what I did to find what I have and I nearly destroyed my own physical existence searching for the answer...So it will be absolutely no surprise to me when all of you throw verbal stones at me.

Religion vs Gnosis... 'Illuminati battle'.

A few days back I found myself in conversation with my wife discussing awareness and the meaning of life. The book I had been reading the past few days was by philosopher/stand up comic Timothy Freke, " The laughing Jesus ". Later in the afternoon I found myself trying to remember a poem I had written when I was sixteen.

Mayan Stargates? The Ol: Sacred Cenotes and Portals to the Otherworld

Ancient Mayan art, iconography, architecture and chronometry suggest a worldview in which supernatural power grants access to places beyond the here and times beyond the now. Portals for travel between worlds are recurrent in Mayan culture. Are they stargates? Where did they come from?

The Invisible Cage 2: Peices of the box

"Every part of the social world exists only because of the ideas people embrace and act upon. ... It is because people share ideas about how to do things together that these patterns persist. ... When people settle into a way of understanding the world, they are also settling into a way of feeling about it, about others, and about themselves."
