Now that the experience of spaceflight is merely $200,000 and a waiting list away, what kind of transformation will be sparked by the successive crops of space-travellers returning to Earth?
Rockets are expensive and dangerous, not the mention all those g-forces you have to pull to ride them into space. It's a wonder there haven't been more accidents to date. How, then, will we ever get into space safely and cheaply? Is there a better alternative to rockets?
This is an extension of some discussion from one of my news postings. if you've kept up with with my postings, you will have noticed I write a lot about sci-fi and The Future; however, almost all of it is about the NEAR future. in this posting I will instead talk about the far-but-not-too-far future, by which I mean between 100 and 1000 years hence.

As we march ever closer to the 2012 Solstice, our lives continue to ramp up in speed and frequency. 2010 was an incredible year of transformation, ushering in a great deal of new energy in the form of planetary alignments, eclipses, and convergences.
