People demonstrate to draw attention to collective issues. The whole point of public display of disapproval (protests, rallies, strikes, sit ins, teach ins, Occupations) is to spotlight collective issues in hopes of having public opinion sway the making of policy.

2012: How To Accelerate Your Brain

The whole human race is changing. We are living longer, and aging more slowly. The whole demographic of our world is being altered. When you think that only a few generations ago, a lifetime usually ended at forty, this is remarkable.

In one of my "other lives"(I have a few) I spend a lot of time with the Church of the Subgenius. For those who forgot about it, the Church can be defined below.

Making a forest garden is definitely for people who like to experiment in Nature.

If you like straight rows and garden produce that everybody knows, then maybe it's not for you. Although there are plenty of books on the subject, creating this kind of garden is a continual, creative work in process.

In a world that is plagued by the decisions of yesterday and the ongoing struggles of today anything that is making sincere efforts towards cultivating a sustainable future is always worth sharing. One such effort is that which is taking place at SHFT.com.

It is now apparent to even casual observers that our world is reaching a critical stage. Most of what we see in the daily news reports informs us of dramatic Earth changes as a result of climatic disruptions: earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, etc. We are also witnessing a surge in people protest as decades of corrupt or inefficient social systems are taking their toll.

Position. It’s all about your position. You have to be in the right place at the right time. The ability to be in that spot has taken dedication and commitment. The locals know where to be as they start bustling and jostling for position. They also wait, not acknowledging your presence, fully focused on the task before them. At that moment the tube train rushes into the station.

What if the designs and ideas put forth by 20th century toys could solve the sustainable building resource crisis we face now? This problem will only grow worse as we continue to build our homes out of wood and demolish them when they are no longer safe and usable.

I like many people had been blind by the "modern societies" vision of what people should want out of life. I had gotten myself worked into such a difficult situation and had become depressed. I lost my way and with my family pushing me to succeed in life (the way they thought I should succeed) I just withdrew into my own mind contemplating the reality of the world around me.

i understand the reasonings behind people occupying city capitols across the country, but the only way we will be able to rebalance power and conceive equality is by bringing the production of food/goods/services to fully sustainable local communities. once we stop buying from the 1% and produce for ourselves we'll have no reasoning for occupy movements.
