My 100 Day Personal Transformation Experiment

I had lunch yesterday with my best friend of over thirty years. He is being treated with chemotherapy for leukemia and has other health challenges, too. At one point in the conversation John told me that despite the physical torture of his treatment, he has never been so happy. He said, “All the crap, the fears and anger just disappeared, and I feel freer than I ever have in my life.”

It is troubling to see so many people especially young people as having no duty to family, society and especially Spirit. People trivialize these lacks believing that family. society and Spirit are external entities that they can choose to disregard as irrelevant to the quality of their life experience. This is heartbreakingly short sighted.

Saturday’s global rally in over 600 towns and cities worldwide was a momentous event. A month ago, the Occupy Wall Street movement managed to pierce the veil of the matrix. The puncture has now become an unsealable rip in the fabric of Empire. Gas is escaping rapidly from the balloon.

In a time of global upheaval, disconnection, and uncertainty, its a time to look reflexively  at the deep past to understand where we have come from, our roots, and were we are heading as a human species.

Life throws up its challenges and difficulties – its easy to moan and gripe about these times and events but really they can be seen as opportunities to grow and develop.

It's commonly said that it's very hard to be an artist.

It's not so much that this path is 'hard' but that it requires a complete transformation of the kind of socialized beliefs that most of us grow up with. One has to give up common ideas of how the world works, and open oneself up to new ideas. Learn new systems and new ways of being.

It is now becoming more evident every day that our global society is experiencing an array of crises that could, through a combination of complex interplay, create some potentially dangerous shifts -- or 'tipping-points' -- for our everyday social lives.

It's so odd to be enmeshed in a system or a culture that is based on exploitation. The will to exploit is rewarded and those who exploit, profit. At some point, people believe that the only way to profit is to exploit and that anyone who is rich has become so by exploiting people, animals or the environment at the highest levels.
