I’m afraid that at this point, in the year 2012, I see the terrible monster of our age lying, all humps and coils, across or around our beautiful earth. And yet, in the spiritual sense, I see the brightest angels spread across the sky above us. What exactly is the monster identified with? Technology? Well, from one point of view consciousness has been technologized to an untold degree.

The world systems for a new era will be more likely not to emerge from an elite center, like the Renaissance that sprung up in Florence in the Late Middle Ages, but from a groundswell of people-centred change. The ‘new renaissance’ will come from the periphery or from the bottom-up, a distributed and networked emergence of conscious individuals and groupings.

It is now openly apparent, and can no longer be denied or covered over, that many of the material structures in our social world have become a transparent fiction: our financial systems, our job securities, pensions, etc. It is becoming increasingly difficult to believe that these structures will continue to provide for our needs.
In a world that is plagued by the decisions of yesterday and the ongoing struggles of today anything that is making sincere efforts towards cultivating a sustainable future is always worth sharing. One such effort is that which is taking place at SHFT.com.
It is now apparent to even casual observers that our world is reaching a critical stage. Most of what we see in the daily news reports informs us of dramatic Earth changes as a result of climatic disruptions: earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, etc. We are also witnessing a surge in people protest as decades of corrupt or inefficient social systems are taking their toll.
What if the designs and ideas put forth by 20th century toys could solve the sustainable building resource crisis we face now? This problem will only grow worse as we continue to build our homes out of wood and demolish them when they are no longer safe and usable.

If you ask me to peer into the future I can only see a cavernous darkness. No sound, no light, nothing resonating. Indeed, how far can I see into the present? I see crowds gathering at different corners of the world, I hear the sounds of now. Are they the present, are they creating the future? There are so many people now, standing in a moonless night, waiting.
Forlorn are the forsaken whose seed to birth lay in waste amongst the many whose selfless desire is given in reciprocity with their kind, to make future a presence of humanity that barren life would otherwise, fail to realize.
