Just wanted to bring an amazing organization I found online to light for everyone! The organization is called "Not Far from the Tree" and for anyone who hasn't heard of it they go around Toronto/GTA and harvest crops such as apples from abandoned orchards or for people who are not able to harvest themselves!
I submitted an idea I had for a small business to the Pepsi Refresh Project, which was just accepted. (It involves veggie garden installation loosely based on the "gift economy" model.) I recently learned how to ferment tomatoe seeds to extract them for storing and creating a seed bank.
1. Squeeze the seeds out into a jar.
2. Fill the jar with a little water, roughly 1/4 of the jar.
3. Leave on a warm window seal until the surface of the water turns to into a scummy layer. This might take up to a week or so.
