Promethean and Orphic

The French philosopher Pierre Hadot died on April 24, 2010. I think he is important in the context of the Project many are involved in - the Re-sacralization of Nature. As evidenced in the film Avatar. Hadot presents a struggle between the Promethean and the Orphic . . . which reflects the classical Apollo [Rational] - Dionysian [Intuitive] polarity.

Life creates more Life by diversifying, and it does that by changing existing places, and turning them into better and better habitat, for all to share.

Arne Naess 1912-2009

Arne Naess, the great ecologist and philosopher, died last month a few weeks short of his 97th birthday.

Here's what I said at his funeral in Oslo:
