Ecology friendly, Self Sustaining communities

Lets go back in time to when we were learning what are the basic needs of people.

1) Clean Oxygen
2) Shelter
3) Food
4) Water

The current system in place of capitalism and democracy does not work for the people, does not work for sustainability and does not work ecologically.

What Does Sustainability Mean to You?

Sustainability is our only option as a means to living within the earth's natural carrying capacity for natural resources, it is the only realistic way to address our requirements as human beings, acknowledging the limits of the natural environment.

Revolution. Evolution. Solution. What’s a Veggielution?

We are changing the way people eat. Every week community members come to the farm and work the land – learning gardening skills, building community, and growing food that goes to soup kitchens and our low cost Farmstand. Teenagers in our VeggieYouth program learn about nutrition, cooking, food justice, teamwork, and effective communication through working on the farm.

Seeds of CHANGE, and of CHANGING!

Time to prepare for less plant growth and more flowers and bud sets. Less nitrogen is needed during this transition. Additional phosporous and potassium are needed to help support abundant flower and bud sets. It is also a great time to include some micro-nutrients to your fertilizing regiment. Another favorite of mine is the addition of mycorrhizae to the root base.

2012 : Time For Change, SF Screening :: First Thoughts

Awesome stuff, thank you to Daniel, Joao and all of the wonderful producers, presenters and commentators.

I found the film to be engaging, thoughtful, pragmatic, enjoyable and the animation is superb. Fantastic, like a slick mix of Monty Python and Alex Grey! Really well-done.

Might I add a few comments?

A realization

I have been struggling lately with deciding upon how much of the truth that I want to know. And by truth I mean the corruption in the world. I got caught up for a moment in conspiracy theories and although I believe them to be true, I was giving them far too much attention. The important thing is not knowing the problems. There are far too many problems, and there are certainly more to come.

Buying into Culture

Glorious, sparkling waterfalls. Clear blue water. The hot sun is beating down on my UV-desperate back. The children are giggling and splashing each other. I pull out my book, ready to dive into the next climactic chapter. Is this paradise?

But then . . . I hear C&C Music Factory blaring over the speakers. Reality kicks in.

Another Clearification As To What I Said Previously.

If you have asked yourself how can I be so cynical and pessimistic the answer can be found in history and current events. What do I mean by that? When I hear Terence McKenna speak so eliquently of the Archaic Revival and think "Do most people still believe we are kooks?"Probably. But history has proven that the current system does not work and hoping for a better after life only makes this one a sham

Making Dreams a Reality

I have had a dream for many many years, which is to live in a cottage in Ireland, next to the water, where I could live quietly and work on my art.

Over the last year, this dream has moved from sweet fantasy to something more urgent. I realized that I want to make this dream, or something close to it, a reality.
