My name is Korinne, the “French” version of Kore. Kore is the Goddess who came from the light to learn from and to overcome the underworld. My life mythos closely follows the Kore/Persephone myth- the Maiden and the Darkness.
It was the third time that I was embarking on an ayuahuasca journey. It was at a beautiful location in the middle of Europe, in a large tipi close to a small lake in the middle of a forest. I was with my shaman friend Don A. - an excellent plant alchemist who received his training in the deep jungles of Peru, as well as in Mexico.
First of all, this is not going to be one of those "chock full of universally applicable wisdom" type posts. It's just some thoughts about my own path. The main reason I don't just type it on my PC is because it's easier for me to find Evolver blog posts than a text file on my PC.
So like everyone I know is talking about this mayan calendar thing and how the whole world is gonna collapse or something on 2012. At first I didn't believe it, but then after doing some research on the internet, like, OMG!!
You try your absolute hardest to please others, not for them to please you in return but because essentially, you feel good after your dedication. You may have or may not have realized yet that we are born into this small world, into these "individual" bodies and minds, to help others. No one is independent, only interdependent.

He was talking about how reactionary politics and activism often starts from a place of anxiety and fear, from a place of trauma and defensiveness, under which lies an investment in the illusion that we’re not good enough.

I was 22, finishing college, and was terrified that I was on the verge of a mental breakdown. Society was in shambles and no one cared! People talked about nonsense, politicians were de-evolving nations, cats and dogs, living together!
MapMaking is a continuing process. As we collectively go through this time of acceleration, many of us are changing and transforming in radical ways. Some of us are doing this consciously, some not so consciously. If we choose to change, the first step is to make it a conscious change.
We have the ability and capacity to change everything. We can use certain influences that have previously been against our own individual thought, i.e. television. It is becoming more commonly known that information, along with the power of individual choice are spreading like fire. We have the power to show the world, the collective, another reality.
I have been back from Ethiopia for just over 5 weeks now. I have begun to settle again into what I once thought of as normal and what I now think of as a damn interesting game of energy exchange.
This morning, I received this email from an Ethiopian priest, one of the first Ethiopians we met on our trip and one who overwhelmed us with his kindness and hospitality. An excerpt:

It is no mystery that what we place in our body has a great and profound relationship with our external world. Just like all living beings, our physical bodies require air, food, and water; it is the quality of these staples that determine our state of health and vitality, as well of course, as our mental state of well-being.
I've been pretty busy lately with trying to get by in this system. I've stolen, drank, flirted with leaving the system and my life to start anew, and even started some positive habits. I'm tired of thinking about myself, though, and I want to start helping a movement that is working towards progress. While there are quite a few out there, there are very few in my locale.
People keep challenging me by asking me what my "plan" is. My plan has already been articulated many, many, many times. But since people keep asking me what it is, and since I do appreciate their interest, I'm going to go over it one more time:
Female Warrior's recent thought-provoking post about The Predator got me to thinking about this essential question: is the universe and everything in it interconnected and interdependent, working together as a whole, is it all ONE, or are there forces that exist outside of oneness operating independently with nefarious interests at heart?
That sort of, ....wait a minute, is he/she being fair/honest toward me? Did I really feel that way? Is this what I really want? That lack of confidence, that worry in place of excitement. It eats at you but you know that you don't like it. You're aware that it shouldn't be there, and just knowing this one thing for certain gives you hope.
