The Four Elements

Influenced by my "Esoteric Symbols" blog tour, fellow esotericist Jen Francis begins working on talismans associated with each symbol. Pictured above are fire, air, water and earth, ordered according to the directions of their movement.

Esoteric Symbol Two: Fire

Fire is the most revered of the four ethereal elements. In ancient times, its inextricable connection to the sun rendered it of utmost importance as the source of life and all creation. In the temples of many solar deities, fire would burn unremittingly in the innermost sanctuary, or the holy of holies, where it symbolised the undefiled first matter, the Empyrean of God.

Listen

smoke fills our air like armageddon is here,
fire so big,
fire so big we've never seen it this big,
we're seeing smoke from arizona to iowa--
is this what it takes to tell us that
we need to stop repressing, shoving away, anything that we are scared of,
we cannot control the forces of nature,
we cannot stop fires forever,
let the brush build and build until it smothers the land

600 Tornadoes With Nothing To Say?

In April we experienced 600 tornadoes in the US. Last year the count for April was 110. The six fold increase is an astounding climate change. But how did 600 twisters happen? And why? In our public reports such basic questions are strangely restricted.

Suppose you had the revolution you are talking and dreaming about...

"Suppose you had the revolution you are talking and dreaming about. Suppose your side won, and you had the kind of society you wanted. How would you live, you personally, in that society? Start living that way now! Whatever you would do then, do it now.

Fire Meditation

In the winter I have a morning meditation. It starts in October and ends in April. It is one I have to do in the morning whether I like it or not, more to the case whether I want to be warm or not. Before morning tea or toast with sleep still in my eyes I must create fire.

Fire and meditation. There is something about this transformational activity.
Fire is almost alive as it jumps and plays about the wood. Meditation takes on a new depth. the warmth and heat and sound vibrates and goes through you.

I encourage all to try fire meditation. Agnihotra fires can be healing and very rewarding.

Meditations on a Candle

I've always been intrigued by fire, gazing as this incorporeal being dances. Fire is one of those overtly mystic entities which is totally captivating each and every time I see it. It feels wonderful to be a candle. In darkened room nothing exists. Everything is in a state of high probabilistic flux. One candle collapses it all. One candle creates your world. The ultimate sacrifice.
