I am currently in a cooling off period of sorts. My vices have been waning of late, possibly giving my virtues a fighting chance. I’m not certain of what my virtues are, but their time may be coming. Don’t misread this as self-effacing; it is just that vices are so much more easily identified than virtues. Compare crack-heads with patient people, for instance.
A child born innocent, brought into a world of dimensional consciousness, unknowing of what its journey will be, nor knowing of its purpose to being amongst others of its kind; to be tutored by those who have come before it yet again, unknowing of whom amongst them, individual or group, is the honest keeper of truth to wisdom of all earthly and spacial wonderment readily observable by given living
And having lost track, I walked
toward the open field. Now transparent,
now far, the day-moon burned through the waste

The sound of a flute came and went.

I've had an epiphany, one that has been elusive for almost two years in spite of constant searching. One that has kept me hungry. Seeking. Sobbing. Reaching. Diving. Drowning. Believing.
Birth of body, the spirit is re-born
The life led not for glee or forlorn
Outward life experience, but the effect
The spirit’s universal lesson, to detect
The hills and valleys in life’s path
Gained through goodness done, evils wrath
The fleeting time of consciousness’s reign
Is in the end, a spirit’s time to gain
Stranded by this moment of divinity
I search my soul for an answer
Looking to the ancient of beings
Whose wisdom and knowledge
Permeates amongst living souls of today

So a few weeks ago two of my closest friends went for it and got married at a shamanic ceremony I couldn't make it too in Kansas City by the guide we usually work with here in LA. At first when I heard the news I felt sad and disappointed I wasn't there for this occasion. After all we'd been friends for years and this was an important moment to share. I made it about me.

On the journey through life,there are times when you here a call - a call of place. Somewhere calls to you in your mind and you just have to go there though it may be many miles away, and you really do not know why you are going. It is only when you have arrived, that you begin to understand.
I'm new to this whole spiritual growth thing, as of a few months ago. I had always been interested in spirituality, and I was always an accepting, relatively kind person. Although up until earlier this Fall, I was very cynical, depressed, and doggedly agnostic; and I was pretty OK with it.
There is nothing to fear and much to gain. The eye was always there, it's just been given a pair of glasses. When one realizes and sees that the construct of the machine (ergo the human mind) is but an interface to reality we can then begin to ask unanswerable important questions. Why do I see the world the way I do? What does this soup of beauty and information mean?
