I hear big trucks pulling up in front of the corner supermarket to unload shrink-wrapped palettes of canned black beans. There's an ambulance siren on the horizon, wending its way to King's County Hospital. The Q train downstairs is running on time.
When I was in my twenties I was in a single-car accident and suddenly found myself at the top of a telephone pole next to a street light, looking down at my lifeless body hanging out of a wrecked car. I spent almost an entire day in good company, transported somewhere other than here.

It strikes me that the notion of the Brahman Dream is deeper form of solipsism and a key to understanding the duality of the mind and perceived body. Embracing this belief brings about curiosity as to just how much agency one has to alter reality with the power of belief. There is certainly a grounding force that seems to limit this capability.
