Thanksgiving

Today, instead of thinking of everything you're grateful for, I want you to pay a little mind to the anomaly of existence. I have an expression that I like: "to FEEL the anomaly of existence is to be infinitely grateful".

It's so easy to slip into the snare of negative thinking. Especially when your senses are provided so much evidence.

For every negative thought, there should be an equal and positive affirmation.

Refocus.

It's probably not that important anyway.

In the moment

There's not much really worth getting upset about in this world. Yet it is so easy in our culture to become emotionally invested in such trivial things. No matter how much we rush through the day, we are always in the moment. The reality is the moment, yet what we experience is somewhere else altogether in space or time.

An old short poem i found

Seashells and kelp wash up on the shore at 5am.
The dead bodies of the children of the sea discarded as gifts by the morning tide.
Children carry home the treasures of summer and salty air and timeless joy,
sheltered from the truth of time and death by the dwindling light of innocence.
Standing on the sand watching the sun go down in molten fire on the liquid horizon,

Living in the Moment....

It's a lesson I feel I'm learning over and over again. It seems as though the cycles have grown shorter - maybe the lesson is finally beginning to stick. And the lesson is this:

I am much happier when I am living in the moment.
