Ken Wilber calls this Freedom vs. Fullness.

In less than a month, I will be down in Ecuador with the Amazon Mycorenewal Project. We are an international interspecies alliance working to heal the oil-polluted rainforest with the power of mushrooms. As explained in a previous post this is a one-of-a-kind ground-healing effort to apply recent advances in mushroom science (mycology) to break down and remove environmental toxins.
I made it through the biggest festival yet, Lightning in a Bottle, with 12,000 people, 3 gigantic stages, 3 smaller ones, a big bamboo yoga tent that I helped build with some great new friends from the "Red Lightning" group.

While the title of the New Scientist article is a bit misleading, there is pretty exciting information coming out of the psilocybin study at the Imperial College London, where they are taking fMRI images of patients under the influence of mushrooms to track changes in blood flow.
This past summer a friend and I went to a local state park for some catch and release fishing and camping overnight. As the sun set we decided to take some powdered cubensis Mushrooms. We both ate around 3 grams.
As the medicine took hold, fishing became too difficult so we meandered back to the campsite. I lit a fire and we put on some tunes.

the stems were blue, they tasted like pumpkin seeds grown in cow manure. We washed them down with a red bull. Our feast played out to the smooth jams of club 75, sitting directly in the sunlight on the side of a bus converted into a giant record player.
I sat and sipped a concoction of flyagaric tea and orange juice from a flower cup that looked as though it was snatched from wonderland, sculpted by the creative mind that embarked on this trip with me to protect me from myself. I slowly gulped the tea, relaxing before our show, waiting to see IMAX for the first time.
