I am sitting on a meditation cushion in a musty domed tent in the Green Mountains of Vermont. There is a raised dais in the front. On it sits a beautiful Native American woman with sparkling eyes, a gracious manner and a melodious speaking voice. She is called the Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo. She is Cherokee. I am entranced by the chanting, visualizations and teachings of peace she offers.
I blame Derrick Jensen. In his book - Endgame II: Resistance - he lays down a thorough analysis of the abusive dynamics and how pacifism relates to this, over three chapters.
