Protest, Magic & Exorcism

Exorcism - the act of driving out a dark spirit that has possessed a person or a place, by commanding it to leave in the name of a more powerful power, in our case the life of the Earth - this is one of the oldest of our human rituals.  However, exorcisms are also embedded in the arts of our culture like little noticed but powerful micro-climates.

Reverend Billy exorcizes BP at London's Tate Modern

At the Tate Modern in London, British Petroleum seeks to capture our imagination by hitching its BP sunflower logo to the Miro exhibit. The artistic experience is then reduced to a dangerously passive consumerism. Only the Earth itself, a kind of freak storm inside, can free us from such a damaging lie.
We tried to let all the victimized life of BP come through us on Monday.

Switch the Switch

What if there is a switch in our brains that Bond-like villains can flip with impunity, sending us into spasms of shopping? Horribly, this is now an American fact of life. Yes - corporate researchers have discovered a circuit in our brains that actuates our shopping.

This post is not what one can call a message that cheers us up.. But it is a very clear message about what is possibily going on with Lybia.

The first thing ofcourse I thought and for sure lots of you guys also was when the war in Lybia started is o the UN/US wants to help and free the people of Lybia..?! and so the thing to do this is by bombing it and killing them and their homeland..??!

The Earth-Buster Sale

On Black Friday/ Buy Nothing Day – we enjoyed our annual turn on national television, cutting into the heavy-breathing shopping reports with our alternative Christmas. A comment like “But if we stopped shopping – what about jobs?

East meets West: China, exotic rare earth metals, and the Empire of the West

You may have heard rumblings about China cutting off the West's supply of exotic metals. Recently, China restricted the export of some metals to Japan and prompted Hilary Clinton to quickly seek assurances that the same would not happen to the US. Chinese officials told her they would remain a “reliable supplier” of the minerals.

Clean Up the Gulf in You -- Ho'oponopono and the Joie de Vivre

Consistently applying my own twist on a healing technique known as Ho'oponopono since 2002, I'd like to share these publicly for the first time. Essentially we will deeply delve into the hypothesis that everything "out there" is our own reflection "in here." In so doing, we will tap into inner and outer resources for joy and self-acceptance that will simultaneously heal the oil sp

How do we free ourselves from Oil while living in a Plastic Fantastic World?

How can we free ourselves from our dependency on oil?
We live in a plastic world molded from oil. In single urban commuter day, everything we touch is made of oil: car dash buttons, elevator buttons. our computer keyboards, pens, fridge handles etc.

2010 words on the Gulf Oil Spill (edited from a previous poem)

“Us clams must stick apart” –Feudal Baron Periwinkle III.

Aphrodite rose from sea foam in film.
A centrifugal waterspout, sucking out the poison.

A Shell and a Sunflower are branded,
Sucked of meaning.
Twisted arms of godsoilmen
Workers, investers, safety chiefs,
Some work with sludge in hands
Some on the tongue, others dodge
Regulators.

Praying the Gulf

My first response, when I finally got to feeling the situation of the Gulf Catastrophe, was a vision... Envisioning the serene beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, flapped upon by dancing waves, waters stretching out from coastal mangroves to tropical islands, waterfalls tumbling down from the jungles with their enlivened waters in to the sea.

River Walking: Flow is My Answer to Our Problems

In these troubling times, sometimes its hard to know how to function in the world and stay open and present. With the oil and methane continuing to gush into the Gulf, where it is mixed with toxic dispersants, and cover-up efforts being as extensive as clean-up efforts, it’s becoming clear how much power corporations really have in our country.

The Ecology Of Consciousness And The Shift Of Ages

What is occurring in the Gulf of Mexico is not an isolated incident. It is only one component part to an entire ecology of unconsciousness. This is the same unconsciousness that allows the removal of mountaintops that have evolved over millions of years, the damming of rivers that have formed throughout great shifts of world ages, and the systematic deforestation of the entire planet.

I got upset and made this game.

When I get upset I make up something humorous to help process what I'm feeling, or to make sense of what I believe is happening. I also do it to vent frustrations and to connect with people in relation to difficult issues. Blah blah blah. I got pissed- I made a game. Hope you get a laugh.

Gallons Of Fuel

Hello Evolvers,

I had recorded this song a few years ago and have yet to include it on any project.

With what is going on in the gulf I was inspired to share this song. Its about oil and our dependence on it. Maybe some of you will enjoy it.
