There is little doubt that 2012 will be tumultuous year. Nearly everyone in America and in many parts of the world feel pessimistic about the coming year.

The following is an email I sent to a friend of mine who is registering Republican so that she can get Ron Paul in ahead of Romney and Gingrich. She no longer believes in Obama, but she works for a federally funded educational program that serves the poor people in her community.

I was asked by my spiritual teacher to visualize what balance looked like in my life. At the time, I felt very much out of balance between my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies and was out of alignment. I also was in a bad place with work and knew I needed to get back to a health balance.

We may have been here before
we may be here again
surely we have been, somewhere, someway...

Much is left to be done, much remains on our plates to be addressed, pushed for, believed in, stood up to... but knowing that so much is possible in so little time, so few rotations of one small planet among the stars, fuels my internal fire to never stop believing in the change we know is possible...

I offer this blog to counterbalance my other: a rather heavy pronouncement about the reality-illusion that we are in. And I offer it because it is precisely at times like this that it is most important to celebrate. The energy of celebration sustains and nourishes us through the awakening process and is a reflection and an extension of our divinity.

Humans did not weave the web of life; we are merely a strand in it.
Therefore, what we do to the web we do to ourselves.
We must be at peace with the oneness of all life’s energy in order for harmony to arise.
Unity with nature is the key to a positive progression.

This little film shows Tuesday's simulcast between the London and New York OCCUPY communities. I flew out to the encampment at St. Paul's Cathedral, and we sang the 99% song together, across the Atlantic - what a wonderful moment! That made the whole London visit worth it - when Londoners held up a sheet to show the Stop Shopping Choir from Wall Street.

violence became an inevitability.

Thus is the nature
of that which we are attempting to outgrow.

Knowing that, we must remember:

Neither injury nor death can justify violence.
For violence breeds violence,
and therefore: no change.

Its application will not bring about the
peace and sanity we are seeking.

At the start of this film Terrence McKenna is speaking about the Rig Veda of ancient Hinduism. Apparently a lot of old knowledge has been lost in India. He goes on to talk about the book burning at the Alexandria library.
