My view is that we all get access to the entire body of knowledge in the universe. Lets use the analogy of a computer Operating System. At the start every individual is given a free copy of Universe OS 10.4.1 (or whatever). In western society most people just use their free system to receive email, visit MSN & occasionally buy overpriced U2 tickets on Tickemaster.
One of the many interesting things about the internet is that it's very difficult to keep secrets. Gmail for instance openly say that they use information from the body of your email in order to fund the show. Let's say all affairs are run according to this law of openness.
