Sharing Life

Recently I decided to share my life with a dog, (finally!) When I look at him I realise that we humans do not have a monopoly on consciousness. Animals live completely in the moment, just experiencing. Their consciousness is perfect. Rather than treating them as subservient slaves, we should be learning from the living things around us.

a Million (Wo)Men Virtual Video March Raising Awareness - Breaking the Dams of Silence [Derek Gee]

I have been thinking a lot lately about just turning on a camera and share what I have on my mind, in my heart and in my soul on Youtube - and about how I would love to hear and see more people doing the same. And here comes this guy and makes such thoughts into a project. Takes a lot of courage to do what he is doing... Thumbs up - I'm in - how about you? =)

Hugs to everyone!

Ananda Meditation Retreat - A Unique Spiritual Awakening

It was 1972 and I was in the military, in the initial stages of pursuing an in-service conscientious discharge. I saw a flier about Ananda and hitch-hiked from University Avenue in Berkeley to the retreat in Nevada City, CA. In those days people had hitch-hking signs that said most any destination and hithcing was easy. Usually the people had pot to share.

What is important to you? Are you acting with integrity?

I arrived in NYC with a few important goals. Amongst them was to meet Daniel Pinchbeck and get involved in expanding the horizons of humanity through whatever means he had going at the time. At that time, Evolver.net had recently launched and they needed help organizing the NYC spore. It wasn't how i imagined I would participate, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Share this course and Share this book

Hi folks, I’m currently collaborating with a small but growing group of web critters led by Mark Pesce. We are a unique decentralized community which will lead--good willing--to the manifestation of a book, scheduled for completion in 2010 and based around the emerging 'hyperintelligence' and 'hyperpeople' as defined by Mark Pesce, and approximated as sharing culture and the art of sharing.

The Culture of Giving

From the caves of pre-history to the utopian survival freakfest, the Burningman Festival, man has been giving gifts to build community. Anthropologist Marshall Sahlins talks about the culture of giving that existed in Stone Age life as being an expression of abundance.

ALL I WANTED AS A CHILD WAS TO BE LIKE JESUS!

I grew up in a fairly strict Catholic household, where I was forced to go to church every Sunday and I can remember ever since a young child all I really wanted to do when I grew up was be like Jesus. I wanted to go around and spread peace and love to all, especially those that needed it the most. Live as a minimalist and share that which I had with others.

Survival Skills

I was struck at Larry's main message last night that Burning Man's success is built around survival and a sense of necessity. I'm curious how you all see that manifesting in your lives, communities, circles, outside of this particular festival...

The Grace of Giving

Years ago I read somewhere that one of the beautiful facts about the Western interest in all things Eastern and Indigenous is that they have been embraced and integrated without any coercion or force from the sources. There were no overt campaigns of conversion, subliminal manipulations, or outright war. There simply continues to be a giving and sharing to those with open hearts and minds.

On the lifestyle of Pirates...

It seems to me that the traditional and novel media are aflutter with talk of pirates of one sort or another lately.
