The mammalian body has evolved over millions of years. Survival skills of human and animal at times seem almost supernatural. Science is constantly coming up with more discoveries about the amazing abilities of man and animal to survive.
I found this to be an incredibly engaging video covering some amazing material. Cosmic radiation and its effect on evolution and the Biosphere. The position of our solar system in relation to the Virgo Cluster and the ecliptic plane of our Galaxy and its effect on mass extinctions and the creation and evolution of species.
The following is a written account of what I experienced the day of the big Japan quake. I live in Takasaki, Gunma, about 300 kilometers from the epicenter, though closer than Tokyo (so close enough!). It was written on the following Monday when I had time to give an hour to recollecting what had gone down. Here goes:

I was led to the same hut I had used the past two days and given two squares of gauze and a mirror. I looked into the mirror and saw a horrible mess. My vanity set in, all I could see is a future with a messed up lip, then I thought. What is all this biting about?
I've been deeply moved by the important and powerful film, "Fierce Light." It's a good film to watch with others for a rich post-discussion. If we do agree that this life experience is rooted in Oneness, how do we then best promote action, without contributing to dualistic polarization? Good food for thought... Peace.
From Friday Nov. 20 through Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 26, I will attempt to survive exclusively on wild food gathered from sidewalks, parks, wilderness areas and yards within the city of Portland. There will be no Dumpster diving or mooching from gardens.
