We are only beginning to discover the magnitude and many tentacled, multiple symptoms of this dis-ease. A dis-ease in the true sense of what dis ease is. An uneasiness of/within your being. Can you imagine being uncomfortable in your own skin? Can you imagine wanting to break out of it you are so uncomfortable in it? Now, imagine being uncomfortable in your mind.
As I see it, the goal is not to be high or happy all the time; but to be present all the way. And this means present to whatever is real and true for you right now. Gabrielle Roth’s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabrielle_Roth) definition of ecstasy is to embody 100% what you feel. By this definition, to be sobbing at a funeral is to be in ecstasy.
Drugs mess-up your head. This message is carried explicitly or implicitly within every warning on illegal drugs. The warnings are very rarely placed alongside a balanced description of their benefits. If this were the case we would see: ‘Sometimes drugs mess-up your head, and sometimes they help solve your mental problems’.
