*yes, grasshopper, it seems like a contradiction to be a peaceful warrior. we have agreed that the wisest move is to walk away from a fight, if possible, but sometimes your antagonist keeps goading you or your conscience will not let you rest. then you must fight. to the death? well, isn't that what every warrior expects to do? otherwise you will be defeated.

Its easy to decry any US military action as imperialist

... but what our role is in international relations brings lots of questions..

For example:
What if we just allowed Gadaffi to continue bombing his own people? What is our role in preventing genocide? Is all military action bad in these cases?

I'd like to open up about something that's been concerning me for a while now and it's the narrow view our culture has of mental health.

I just started reading Castaneda, inspired by a few fellow evolvers. The first book I purchased was Journey to Ixtlan. I sped through a hundred pages before I could put the thing down. It was amazing! It was inspiring! It was Magical. And then I found it was fake.

I think of the global human-ecological dilemma as a scaled up model of "Musical Chairs." You walk in a circle around chairs in a zombie-like manner as music plays. When it abruptly stops everyone jumps for a chair, yet there’s an ever-diminishing number of chairs so someone gets literally assed-out.

Once beset by a longing so passionate and fierce I almost consumed my being to ease the ache of it….. Seeking to obliterate the pain that defined the longing, like fighting fire with fire, I desperately tore at myself before I surrendered.
