Booklet on Aboriginal Understanding

I've just released online a booklet containing some of my writings on Aboriginal issues. It's got stuff about language, culture, education, activism, sovereignty and more ... Available (at no cost) in two forms: PDF e-book or formatted for printing out as a 'zine' (ie doublesided and then fold/staple (or elastic)).

You can download either version at:

A short story called 'Today'

Today is 21st December 2012.

Today I got up, ate two rounds of toast with strawberry jam, drank one cup of coffee with a splash of milk and then brushed my teeth as usual.

Today I went for a walk along the beach. There were a few clouds, but the sun edged out from behind them promising another warm sunny day.

VOICE: A Spoken-Word Manifesto by Felina Lune Kavi

i am just a child myself...
one of many children
of the soil of this earth.

and with dirty fingernails
i've crawled this ground
into an upright walk
down a path i paved
for my future.

and with weakened knees
i've stumbled back down
into a clawing crawl
only to regain my strength
by looking back.

still i never lost sight
of what keeps me going onward.

past the heartaches,

Poem Addict

Can't stop.
Don't want to.
Up late drunk, make more.
Any inspiring event, make more.
New poetry blog, make more.
Why make it?
Why not?
It's the least commercially promising writing.
It's the least common.
It's the least I can do for myself.
What else would allow me to be so seductive and insane simultaneously.

Licking my Lips Over a Ship in a Bottle and Cold Copper

Leaking meaning from the mouth. Drooling all over your sacred documents. Melt down your fine metals and cast a spell on my enemies. You know you want to lick my skin and burn your taste buds off. Well take your tongue off me and help me blind my conscious front-man! I'm trying to keep it like a dream and drift into something new. I'll evaporate as soon as I feel too dense.

Harnessing Internet Power to Self-Publish a Book

I'm working on my first feature-length book! It will be a nonfiction work about the immature place where mankind is stuck, examined through topics such as creative evolution, consciousness, madness, and the autobiographical fiction of Jack Kerouac. I made an intro video to help explain my vision (embedded below).

A Couple Scripts

"Another Word (Earth Prayer)
"

Another word, I will fall.
Another word, I will be incomplete.

We seek the words of others, to carry us through the day.

I seek the word of my brothers, to make my life okay.

I long for the words of my children, to tell me that I am alright.

I beg for the thoughts of the others, to tell if I may or I might.

An Open-Submission Journal of Dreams and Visions

Oneirisms is a "collective journal of metaphysical experience," a place to post your dreams and visions and read what other people have experienced outside the physical dimensions of space and time. An oneirism is "dream-like experience," and in posting dreams for all to see we provide the means for others to share in the ride.

Barbelith Lives!!

We've been talking a lot on Evolver lately about something that we can all agree on. Well I think something that at least 99 percent of us can agree on is that there is some sort of “creator”. Now I don't necessarily mean god, it could be the Logos, the Collective Unconscious, The Matrix, any number of different things, I think most of us believe in something more, a higher power.

Pop the Cork

3 am approaches and I am wide awake as usual. It's not as if I couldn't close my eyes and sleep, for I am indeed tired and would be lying if I were to say insomnia had anything to do with it. I lived with insomnia most of my life and totally know the difference between can't sleep and won't sleep.

The Responsibility of the Artist, an essay by Aimé Césaire

We are at a solemn moment, the moment when colonialism is not dead, alas, but at any rate already knows itself to be mortal. Colonialism is still able to crush and oppress, perhaps more savagely than ever. One thing is sure, however: It is mortally wounded, it knows it is perishable and has lost its historical assurance.

Excerpt from a poem I'm finishing up

I. I HAVE THESE THOUGHTS

Without remainders in advanced algebra I’m overdrawn but it keeps coming
from somewhere when I grab the go-to-for-it to eat my knuckle sandwich
when my joints are the fulcrums of open safety pins
finger veins are pins pluckable steel wires as strings to play it safe I feel reverb instead of snapping.

Let's talk

I don't think I am a very good writer. I don't know how to capture an audience. Not only for them to stick with me and my thoughts but also just to draw attention. And I am all about going round in circles.

Next Top Spiritual Author book publishing contest -- help us change the world by winning a major book deal

Getting a book publishing deal these days is as hard as selling a screenplay. So when I heard about The Next Top Spiritual Author online book publishing contest, I figured it was worth a shot. It would certainly get me and my co-author, Camille Leon to actually WRITE our personal evolution book rather than just keep talking about it.

The Irresponsibility of Writing

Speech is sacred; many do not realize the great responsibility their writing entails. I came to Evolver, as did most of you, to expand my mind and clear up my thoughts and vision, I did learn a lot of information, but information itself is useless, it is the context in which it is being used and the picture it allows for us to see that are relevant.
