Life as Art: The Legacy of Lynn Margulis
Simon G. Powell

In the wake of Margulis's work, it is clear that relentless competition is not the sole theme of life. Cooperation and synergistic networking are a major feature of life on Earth, a real kind of naturally selected wisdom that makes multicellular life possible. We have to acknowledge symbiosis as a key operating principle of life on Earth and to install that operating principle within our culture.

About Me

Bio

From way-out down to my bones, I am a totally free, uninhibited, wild and happy person with a golden heart. Being a natural born problem solver, diplomat, and excited innovator, I see the opposites in all things, then I swish about to converge and evolve through them. I strive to find the path of acceptance and growth, rather than resistance and death. When I'm at my best, my personal sphere becomes all inclusive.

As Above, So Below: The Worldview of Lynn Margulis
Conner Habib

Biologist and geoscientist Lynn Margulis composed a grand and powerful view of the living and the non-living through her uncanny ability to lean forward and see the smallest inhabitants of the Earth and then to leap back at the speed of thought to conceptualize the entire planet. This seeing from soil to space marked a unique scientific endeavor.

The Unsung Intelligence of Life's Web
Simon G. Powell

The closer one examines life the more apparent does natural intelligence become. Like brilliant ideas and hypotheses made literal flesh in space and time, natural intelligence is what you see when you look down a microscope at a cell. The genetic code is itself an expression of natural intelligence. Codes are the hallmark of intelligent activity. Nature got there first.

About Me

Bio

For the last several years, after having a spiritual awakening of my own, I have with open eyes noticed the decay of the heirharchy society we live in. I have also in the past few years found my self moving away from the collective concience of this main stream materilistic society. I find it distressing how we depend on this current "system" to literally live. If it suddenenly failed, many would perish because they dont have the skills or knowledge to live without it. I would prefer not to be one of those if possible.

I am desperatly trying to educate myself on how to "cut the cord" as it seems. I am very interested in Eco-housing and permacultures. This seems like the way it should be. But I am unsure how I would even go about this concept or how to join a community. I worry that unless one has subsequent cash, that this may not be a reality.

Skills and talents
I have always had an affinity for plants, animals, and nautre in general. I try to surround myself with nature in every possible way. I have lived on farms, worked in landscaping, kennels, vet clinics. A jungle of houseplants in my home is how I prefer it.

Photosynthesis

The branches of trees are the neuronal pathways of a giant vegetal brain. The leaves are like eyes operating a kind of hormonal sight whereby the information is stored in cells as it grows. So we really should pay more attention to the oldest of trees.

J: Oh dear have you heard about Earth? Poor thing, she's got Life.

S: Oh no, you're joking! When did that happen?

J: About 4 billion years ago apparently, well, her years anyway.

S: But she's going to be okay isn't she?

Birds and fish dying... here is a theory why

Why birds and fish and not other animals?

sound energy.

There is a level of atmospheric pressure, a sweet spot where sound energy will travel without loss of energy. AND as it is above, so it is below.. underwater there is the same "sweet spot" where the waves of energy travel without loss.

I try to write everyday. I love to sing. I love to travel to new place and have new experiences. I love to meet new people and discuss topics ranging from spirituality to favorite T.V. shows (I'm unfortunately addicted to reality T.V.). I'd like to know more about politics because I'm not very educated in that topic. I love to laugh! Happiness is the fuel of my life.

I'm a student with a major in Animal Biology and a minor in Psychology. I'm planning on taking a semester off to try and figure out what I REALLY want to do in my life.

I'd like to talk to people willing to share new things!
