The Greeks regarded sexual passion as a kind of madness -- possession by Eros -- which deprived you of all dignity and made you betray your friends. Nowadays we are particularly prone to such madness because we have lost the religious depth which would contain and define the soul's desire for something beyond the human.

A Supraterranean Manifesto
Nick Meador

Perhaps it hit me when Time Magazine named their 2006 Person of the Year. You. It was so simple, so obvious. The decision must have been based largely on the runaway success of YouTube. Much else was changing about the ways we communicate and spend our free time and energy. But even that simple switch from passive to active media consumption was one that, I felt sure, would forever transform our society.

About Me

Bio

Just a human becoming, pining to unite with the Atma within, to see the God in everything (as I believe all is thought-extension of the Creator thinking within and upon itself), and shed myself of all the guises of materialism. I'm a freelance writer (nonfiction, fiction, screenplays, spirituality, philosophy, polemics, etc.), soul surfer, backpacking junkie, and music-loving festy brother. I'm open to anything loving and positive in life, and try to surround myself with folk of like character, soul searchers on the spiritual quest of unity and illimitable expansion.

My focus lies in healing human consciousness and Gaia - believing the two to be synergistic. I'm a vegetarian and renewable proponent (worked 2 years in the solar arena). I love to travel and meet eclectic, strange folks, to experience the weird, phenomenal, and magnanimous. I believe in myriad phenomena, and have had a number of personal experiences of such spectacle. I'm a Sai Baba devotee, and am convinced he is another Messiah here with us today, to help raise human consciousness and vibration out of the muck of self-obsession and contemporary material sway. Sylvan hot springs rock, and I love to soak in them. In many ways I'm still a kid, and plan on retaining that mindset.

I went to my first national Rainbow Gathering in 1999. My hope is to hit a multitude of west coast festivals this summer: two regulars for me are the Oregon Country Fair and Earth Dance. Hit me up. Let's party and celebrate love and life!

I'm scrambling to evolve and help others on this journey of self-realizing the Creator within, uniting with our Atma, and to make the cosmic evolutionary leap of creative thought-form expansion into the Photon Band of ancient prophesy (2012), lovingly persevering through the fallen life-expressions of higher intelligence that have held oppressive sway on earth for a long time in our linear counting (albeit collective human will has allowed this vibration of negative entropy to predominate).

Peace and love be with you always!

Skills and talents
I invite you to check out some samples and links to my writing here. I'm a freelance writer of all genres and nuances, with a stolid background in metaphysics and cosmic spiritual cosmologies, and how these latter two speak to our current epoch of earthly and multi-dimensional evolution. If my writings resonate with you, please feel free to contact me. Acting and film are also passions of mine; I was Meisner schooled at a theatre in L.A. Backpacking and wilderness survival are some other strong points (regarding the latter, I still have much to learn). Surfing is a major part of my life, and I try and baptize myself out there everyday. A holist, I'm forever trying to educate myself on raw/tru-organic living and pure superfoods, and hope that I am a helpful source of this information to friends......I'm also a quasi-zoologist – love creatures of all makes, sizes, and temperaments. Peace and love be with you always.

We See Things Differently

This chilling and powerful short story by Bruce Sterling was first published in 1989. I read it around '94 and re-read it on Sept. 12, 2001. In the story, Sterling pre-cogs the Crusader vs. Jihad world that we inhabit today, and presiently explains the Jihadist position from the main Muslim character's point of view. It's eerie.

About Me

Bio

Welcome. Here is a little about who I am, where I come from and why I do this. I am currently enrolled in the Philosophy, Cosmology and Consciousness Master's program at California Institute of Integral Studies. After teaching in a Montessori classroom for 14 years I began to realize that there was a larger world view that was being obfuscated by the daily roil and toil of managing a classroom. I am now finding that larger world view in my studies at CIIS. I am also an artist, writer, and musician who is inspired by all types of creative endeavors. This blog is an attempt to share my thoughts, concerns, inspirations and ideas with a larger community than the loving, compassionate one I find myself in at CIIS. Thank you for reading and keep the hope.

Skills and talents
I am a teacher at heart and am now trying to find a way to use my skills without having to push through the frustration of administrative limitations. Music is a passion; I play didgeridoo, guitar, banjo and assorted other string and percussion instruments. I have produced and played on a number of cds here in the Bay Area and love to experiment with sound. I tend to see the big picture and am an idealist at heart. I see a difficult road ahead but one filled with promise.
