Our Grief Is Not A Cry For War

On that impossible day when the skyline of New York City collapsed on its southern tip - I watched from a rooftop across the East River - we entered an unexpectedly peaceful eye of the storm. We all fell toward the terrible scene. We fell through tunnels, over bridges.

Good day - I am new to Evolver and excited to see what happens here. Nice to meet you all. I am starting off with a request - since one member of our mastermind will be traveling over the next couple of months- we will need another person. Look forward to adding to the group. Take care.

About Me

Bio

As of right now, I'm making my way through this unruly world the best way I know how. Formal education (i.e. College, education in Architecture & Urban Design) is close to the top of my list of things to do, but currently, I don't yet have the means. Hopefully that will change soon. I'm a New Yorker, recently made a (finally) permanent move to the city. I'm looking to experience as much as I can in the state this place is in now so I can help to change it in the future. Young, stupid and tenacious, I'm ready for anything.

Skills and talents
Unfortunately, I still have to figure them out for myself. But Understanding, adapting, and being able to really see the world and see the potential for change are a few strong suites of mine.
Interests
Architecture, Experiencing Life, exploring, healthy lifestyle, new york city, reform, travel, urban design
What I'm Reading
A bunch of things (I never stay consistent with reading)... Atlas Shrugged, The Fountainhead, and a few smaller non-fiction works. Anything that makes me think and opens me up to new ideas is of interest to me.
What I'm Listening To
Good music. Not this pop-culture, commercialized crap that's out now. The Fruit Bats, Passion Pit, The Big Pink, The Xx, Animal Collective, Alexi Murdoch, Rilo Kiley, Alanis Morissette, The Cranberries, Third Eye Blind, Beck, Kings of Leon, Alex Ritchie, and of course, my favorite, The Beatles.
Movies I've Seen Recently
Documentaries are my favorite, Food Matters, Collapse, Esoteric Agenda, Zeitgeist... to name a few.

The Earth Is Totally Hip

The one question I return to: From the center of our vast population can we human beings reach out to the thing that created us? The industrial inebriation of traffic-life, computer-life, and military-life - is so complete. We as the top dog species isolate ourselves from the Earth – just as the Earth makes the effort to talk to us. And oh – it’s trying to get our attention!

The Heckler

Three weeks to go to the election. Last night I interrupted Mike Bloomberg’s opening statement in the debate. We’re trying to poke through the $65 million TV screen that weighs down on us in Gotham City. My prayer for bravery was posted with you earlier yesterday, “…there is something powerful in a quiet voice when the words are whole.”

here's the thing...

On my trip back from New York City on a Saturday morning in August, I inserted the Magical Mystery Tour by the Beatles to listen to on our traffic jam laden voyage out of Manhattan.

Chaotic Destiny

New York City. Living here the past year I've found the speed at which the city moves is not set by the pace of traffic and sneakers, but by the endless possibilities which the city provides.

A word from Reverend Billy to all citizens of New York City

Dear Neighbors,

I am running for Mayor of New York City. Our campaign is devoted to nourishing and strengthening our common wealth, our city's heritage, our lovely parks, roads, streets, neighborhoods, and the people who live in them.

Our revolt is from the fabulous 500 neighborhoods that we all call our HOME.

And WE must keep our HOME:

Viable, Vibrant, Healthy and Safe

VIABLE:
