Is Ritual Sacrifice embedded into the fabric of society?

As a kid I remember an old film were this guy rescues this girl from another guy. Then throughout the film the couple spend it running from that guy(a warlock) and a witches coven. In the end the warlock recaptures the girl so our hero has to rescue her again, this time from a ritual sacrifice. Only this time he gets there and he's betrayed by his best friend and the girl. Our hero then finds out the whole thing was an elaborate rouse to trick him into coming to the ritual on his own free will and accord as it is the only way an offering can be sacrificed.
I'm not a warlock so I can't say from experience that this is how it's done. But if one looks about the world today with a mindful eye. Ritual sacrifice is going on around us all the time and the commercial exchange system has incorporated this right into the very fabric of society.
I know most Evolvers probably don't do a lot of fast food, I'm going to use one such establishment as my example although this is clearly not an isolated incident. Because from the moment you enter onto the grounds, you've crossed under and into the temple of the golden arches. You, the willing participant then make your way to the alter. Order from the high priest or priestess a type of slow poison, much of which comes from some type of animal which was sacrificed off site at whole other type of temple. You then present the priest or priestess with a talisman with a lot of masonic symbols on it. The sacrament is then prepared by a team of lesser priests. The degree of poison is so exacting that the willing sacrifice might actually be entitled to a refund of other lesser talismans. Which may be collected in order to perform the ritual once again.
Or so it appears to me although many would call this experience lunch. Perhaps you see what I see and perhaps not. Perhaps just keep this in mind the next time you're a willing participant in a commercial exchange and see if the principles don't pan out in one form or another.

thats the godforsaken truth. You've made me retroidealistic again, good job!
haha, Just messin with ya Absalom, whats up? Wanna go for a day trip to the country this week, wait, I forgot! My week is all filled up with ritual sacrifices.
Lol! jk! Lol! (boom!!!!!!) (that boom meant my head exploded)
wow
that's a pretty excellent observation. I was kind of making that point in my Jesus blog and how eating the body and blood of christ while looking at a dead jesus on a cross is a gnarly near satanic ritual or a spiritual ritual sacrifice. Our world is rampant with them.
"Or so it appears to me although many would call this experience lunch. " that's as funny a statement as it is a sad one, but good none the less.

yea ritual sacrifice has
yea ritual sacrifice has been and still is part of many societies, and done in various mannors. The most evident form of rituals in western society is the practice of celebrating holidays (holy days.) the focus on these holidays is no longer based around worship of the sacred and holy but on the buying and selling of goods. the willing sacrifice or spending of one's commercial energy is usually at its peak during any holiday season. You also gave a great example of the basic steps of ordering fast food and how this common situation relates to the willing sacrifice of animals and other objects that can be deemed to have value. Rituals can be seen as methods to harness some kind of power or energy which will then be used or directed as chosen. So with this purpose think of all the energy being gathered at a time like christmas. Now don't you think there is a reason why everyone is encouraged to participate in these ritual offerings? I think holidays have a lot of hidden meaning that has nothing to do with giving kids toys and candy.
