About Me

Bio

How did I get here? I have always walked between worlds with the Koshare. I received my original Rites of Passage through playing RPGs & psychedelic hardcore punk with an ever-mutating "band" called Psychivore. I have always been fascinated with indigenous ritual & interactive theater, which led me to work as a fire marshall with Crash Worship at the Recreation Plantation during Drum Quest. I explored improv music & theater further with people from such notable projects as Bread & Puppet Theatre, the Groovepharm, Austin's Enchanted Forest, the PErformance Art CHurch, East Babalon Symphony, Golden Arm Trio, Hipnautica, Infidelic, Ethos @ The Vortex, & the Rites of Eleusis @ The Scarlet Woman Lodge. Like most artists, however, I have also neded to seek gainful employment elsewhere... So, after over a decade in the reprographics industry (I have always been fond of the underground press & information theory in general, y'know), I hit the glass ceiling in corporate management, and I decided to try my luck with academia. I had almost completed an Associate's degree in Anthropology at Austin Community College when I received an opportunity to work as the patient care coordinator for a psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of children and adolescents. After years in the mental health industry, I needed a break... So, I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, and worked as the Stage Manager for the Hawai'ian tour of The Tantric Circus! When I returned to the mainland, I participated in the Burners Without Burners Community Picnic in Pearlington, MS. Having lost all of my own worldly possessions along the way, I found myself back in Austin,TX for Burning Flipside 2008! After participating in a couple of Maker Faires & working on related projects, I was the Artistic Director for Plutopia 2009: Living Systems. Also in 2009, I worked with Community Art Makers as the Transport Coordinator for the Fire of Fires Temple @ Burning Man. After I finished working as an extra in the Coen Bros remake of True Grit, during a devotional ritual for Green Tara during the Summer Solstice of 2010, I decided to shave off all of my hair, including my epic moustache... 'twas time for the Sun to rise up out of the underworld, like a big bald head! I took my little brother down to Mexico for a Rites of Passage trip, & I have just returned to Austin to work on a couple of entrepreneurial projects, which will be unveiled in the next few months... stay tuned!
