Today I am releasing my first EP of bedroom recordings as Santiparro, a name that I was given by a Marakame (shaman) of the Huichol people while on a pilgrimage to their holy lands known as Wirikuta. This is the place where the sacred cactus, Peyote, or what the Huichol call Hikuri, grows abundantly and is ceremonially harvested once a year for divination, healing, and communication with spirits and deities. Santiparro means "magnifying glass" or quite literally, "the lens that sees many things not usually seen". The songs on "Get Well Soon" all come from states of being that have allowed me to change my perspective, to be able to "see" in a new light and from varied perspectives. I chose to release the music in its rawest form, a reflection of my original creative process, as it was translated from the subconscious to the conscious. These are lo-fi bedroom recordings utilizing basic garageband software with only the internal microphone of my laptop. All songs were recorded just after they came to me. In some cases they are inspired by medicine work, in others by lucid dreaming. I hope, in any case, you are inspired and uplifted by the messages in the music.
