IcerocketIn 2002 I traveled to the Peruvian rainforest to meet with an “ayahuascero” – a shaman who works in particular with ayahuasca, a very powerful vision-enhancing elixir. For me, the plant medicine provided a range of extremely intense experiences. During one “journey” in particular, I travelled to another planet where Jesus was debarking from a spacecraft wearing a white sparkly Elvis costume. He was also wearing sunglasses with an extra lens for the third eye. I said, “Nice glasses!” and Jesus replied, “Alyce, these are for you.” Since this experience I have been collecting old pairs of glasses from thrift shops with the intent to recreate the glasses in my vision. I’ve finally gotten around to assembling a few pairs – this is one of my favorites.

I love that you followed your dream and made it a physical reality . I do this with my dreams, and I know the challenge.. and the joy when it becomes real :)

This is a really cute story, it reminds me of the feel of that movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, where of course the protagonists were constantly high on one substance or another.. I am aware that ayahuasca is more of a spiritual high however.. meant to open up one's mind and consciousness... I have wondered about trying it, in a controlled environment though!

you rock my world alyce. you are perhaps one of thee most inventive and wacky people I have kind of met. was that grammatically correct? anyway, keep it coming, you are the right type of different thinker we need around this planet to keep it lively and sane. I would totally wear one of those glasses.
