Here is Erich Fromm being interviewed by Mike Wallace speaking about man in relationship to his work, social relationships, his sense of value, god, union, our lack of creativity in social organization, the relationship of individual to society, consumption, happiness, production, intimacy, love, and other timelessly relevant topics.
I have attached the first of three parts. I am a big Fromm fan and would recommend the following books of his (these are the ones I have read so I can recommend them, there may be some other good reads, but I can not recommend them because I have not read them):
- Man for Himself: An Inquiry Into the Psychology of Ethics
- Escape from Freedom
He has another great lecture on YouTube
- Erich Fromm: Resolving Conflicts Without War

I'm actually reading Erich Fromm's "Escape from Freedom" currently, so I enjoyed watching this!

I'd be Johnny Tomato Seed.
'Cause I knw what this country needs:
homegrown tomatoes in every yard you see."
