Partying at the Edge of the Apocolypse

A couple of months ago I saw Brian Transeau (commonly known as BT) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BT_(musician) perform in Chicago.

I never really "got" techno, trance, and house music before (I always liked electronic and ambient though), but this was a turning point for me regarding my musical tastes - I now have a profound appreciation for it.

I had a psilocybin induced revelation while at the show (one of my other revelations while looking at my friends iPhone was to buy more Apple stock haha). Back to the original revelation though, and it was this; the World has already ended and we are here, now, just beginning to understand what to do with ourselves and our unlimited potential. I felt I was literally partying right after the apocolypse happened, everything was ashes, and we were all becoming reborn as The Phoenix. It was a freeing moment for me, it felt as though chains were lifted off of me, I felt lighter physically and mentally.

I view this as a metaphor (it took a while to assimilate), as it wasn't the physical world that ended, rather it was the old system of paradigms that ended (on a micro level with myself and on a macro level with society). It then would become each of our responsibilites to start seeing other peoples' reality tunnels and synthesizing them within our own in order to form a more perfect consensus reality.

If consensus reality is just an averge of everyones reality tunnels, and we all take a responsiblity to widen our own, the average or consensus reality will become more representative of Reality (if that makes sense with the distinction between micro reality and macro Reality). The mirror (our consciousness) in which the universe observes itself, through this widening, will become clearer. Ultimately, that's what I view consciousness evolution as, and it's (in my opinion) a good way to look at it. This viewpoint doesn't include any typical new-agey fluff, it actually works and is practical from a logical standpoint.

Peace.

Welcome to the New Dimension

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. Rapture (in the eschatological sense) isn't when all the good folks suddenly take a sky-lift, it's a self-sustaining pleasurable state of mind that shines through the 'enraptured' into others. I suspect that more people than we think have become aware that we are living in the new world, but presently, in the absence of a shared world-emancipating event in public channels, we sometimes get weird looks when we try to share this experience with others; some of us (and I'm speaking from personal experience) have built cocoons that make it harder to realize that others are living in the same peculiar world we are. Perhaps the power 2012 is to let people finally admit openly to each other that we're living in a reborn, unfolding world.

Others, sadly, have had the opposite experience - the pathways of cognitive eschatology go both ways. Surely, we live in interesting times.

nice one

thanks

This is why such states are outlawed

I agree with much of this article. This piece proves why LSD research, 'shrooms, etc., are outlawed and with stiff sentences for the "guilty". I had inner revelations from LSD and 'shrooms back in the mid and late '70's and faced my own shadow and certain grim facets of straight culture and consensus reality and decided to live a life of creativity, forge relationships that are based on love, mutual aid, and helping, and avoiding soul destroying work. You know, all that flakey good stuff. I have used those beliefs to guide me and I've lived a good life, though I don't have much saved for retirement. Then again, most people who "played the game" got screwed out of that golden watch.

All because of religious, revelatory states. And that's why the system doesn't want people thinking like this.

transcending with dance

namaste,

thanks for sharing. i had the great fortune of being introduced to the electronic music scene by my husband, back when we were in college. previously, i didn't really understand it, though i had some interesting experiences being swept away by the rhythms and dancing until my feet were sore.

as i started to go deeper into my own dancing and the tribal rhythms, i began to feel that this was more important than i had previously credited it as.

now, after finding psytrance, it feels as if every step i took in my musical meandering brought me to the exact place i need to be. when we stepped onto the grounds of our first psytrance festival, it was the first time we both sighed and felt completely at home within a culture. spirituality, philosophy, transcendent dance, art, and music...so much beauty and chaos bound into one experience.

keep following the trail...it goes deeper than one might ever believe...

dance dance dance

until you lose yourself to find yourself.

Yes!

I feel the exact same way. I was attracted to electronic music and the rave scene a few years ago, which I explored for a little while. In retrospect I feel that it was merely a stepping stone on my path to the psytrance scene, which has a completely utterly different vibe than the rave scene. After going to my first psytrance festival in June, the Gaian Mind Festival, I will say that never before have I ever felt so at home with a group of people. Now I am addicted to psytrance festivals and have been traveling around the country frequently. Since June I've been to three festivals, and in the month of September alone I'm going to three more (including Burning Man).

If you're here on Evolver, you'll probably fit in great. :)

hey man good blog. I think

hey man good blog.

I think I saw BT open up for Hallucinogen this past Spring in Chicago. I couldn't get the name, thought it was PT or something...but yeah damn good show.

That time I had no "induced revelations," which is to say the music was enough of a trip.
