Life is absurd, Sartre did say,
All down to choice, no more to waylay,
Nothing but nothingness other than that,
Nothing of value but what’s under your hat;
Yet what about love – the arrow falls,
Or things that inspire – having a ball?
So much influence out there on tap,
So absurd – existentialist crap

thanks for that

Just 'cos I'm only 5 foot 4? :-)

seriously

The point I'm making is that there is more to it than mere personal choice. Society, culture, environment all play a part in who we are and what we think. Yes, our choices are important, but they are part of a 'whole'.
At least, that is my view. it is always open to reasonable debate. Basically, most ideas have a degree of sense, but sense goes out of the window when they are seen as the only way.

debate

You begin debate with a clear expression. In terms of Sartre and pure existentialism, the term stands. In existentialism in general, there's room for compromise. As for Sartre, advising that everything is 'nausea' is pretty upsettingt to a lot of people.
Besides, I had to have a word to rhyme with 'tap'.

ok

A comment from you to me on an earlier thread:

'but I am right and you are wrong'

Need I say more? :-)
Still, here in the UK the witching hour is upon me and it's time for bed.
Nite,nite.
