Time Doesn't Exist?!

As a lot of us know, time does not exist - it is merely a tool for everyday living our society has created. But as with most things, people have given it so much power that it has grown to take on a life of its own and now rules humanity rather than guiding it. Understanding that time doesn't exist is a large part of understanding the universe better. But how does one explain that concept to someone who lives a life governed by time (which is virtually everyone)? I don't completely myself have a firm grasp on the concept, yet. Time is how we live! Time is......everything!
Science magazines are some of my favorite reading materials because they keep the average person up to date on recent discoveries and better explain already known facts. Having bought the Scientific American last month I came across a great article, "Is Time an Illusion?", that talks about scientists' perspective on absence of time from our universe. It really made me think. I decided it was worth sharing. I am not sure how long it will be available on the site, but enjoy!
