Over the weekend the Upper Midwest was generously soaked with some much needed rain. If the temperatures rise above 70 soon, and there are some warm nights, morels will be popping up very quickly.

I am curious if anyone has found any morels yet, or has heard reports of anyone finding any. This information can be crucial to a successful hunt, because as soon as they start to pop in your area you want to begin your hunt. The season is short and fickle for morels so the more information the better.

Since I live in the Twin Cities area, I can provide updates for the surrounding area, and since I hunt morels in southwest Wisconsin (Genoa to be precise) I can provide updates for that area as well. I welcome others to do the same for your area.

I hope to hear good news soon and best of luck!
